New Beach House - "Heart Of Chambers"

Run don't walk your clicking finger to Beach House's MySpace for another listen of what the duo's got in store on their second full-length. When "Gila" came down the pike, we were left well impressed and hopeful for the LP. "Heart Of Chambers" goes one better, a tender ballad built to warm the chambers, Victoria's vox way up front, guitarist Alex Scally's scales running up the hook's immediacy. Of course, we're not assessing "Gila" and "Heart Of Chambers" in isolation at this point; Devotion has been on the heaviest of rotations for awhile now. So all the tunes benefit from the shared glow of the album. What you're getting, piece at a time, are just tastes of something larger, organic, and exquisite.

Devotion is out 2/28 on Carpark. This band is gonna have such a good year.

This new record will definitely still be remembered and revered at the end of 2008. Couldn't have happened to two nicer, more genuine people, either.

Yeah, I know it's early, but I can't imagine liking another album released this year more than this one. Great stuff.

Isn't this schtick played out yet? And tune up before you record. One of the strings in that intro riff is sore-thumb flat.
