New Big Sleep Video - "Murder"

Stereogum's proud to premiere The Big Sleep's first ever music video! Congrats, kids. The trio seems to be involved in some futuristic and explosive games of espionage in this clip. Which totally works, 'cause we always thought their music was perfect for a spy-flick soundtrack. Or to blow shit up to.

Now we're gonna ruin the magic for ya. Sonya tells us how they worked it, ILM style:

Filmed entirely in andrew blackwell’s living room in front of a green screen. gabe's "lever" is an old rusty wrench. the bomb is the tops of two spice bottles. we took turns being "Pam" the sporadically competent Production Assistant. he used photos and crazy filters and animations to makes stuff happen.
And we'll never be able to watch it the same way again.

Coming to a club near you:

The video suits the music perfectly. I have always admired
The Big Sleep, and now understand why. It's so refreshing
to see a group that doesn't do the typical "Look at us play
instruments!"
I hope they're around for awhile...
