New Björk (Feat. Thom Yorke) - "Nattura"
Björk sounds great on her new single "Nattura." Thom Yorke (that guy from Radiohead) adds smeary, windy way-ambient backing vocals, but the most prominent ingredient is Lightning Bolt drummer Brian Chippendale's dark, heavily tribal percussion. (He also brought that amazing end-times feel to Volta's "Dull Flame Of Desire.") This new track, written/produced by Björk, and which includes Matthew Herbert on synth/bass and longstanding ally Mark Bell on electronic beats, might bring you back to Post (or maybe Liars on Enjoyed). Whatever the case, it feels different and darker than Volta.
It's a definite keeper. Plus, all proceeds from the sale of the track go towards funding the Nattura environmental campaign. (Remember, that's why she did that show with Sigur Rós at the Botanical Garden on Laugavegur in Reykjavik this past June.)
"Nattura" will be available next Monday (10/20) on nattura.info, where you'll also find a donation page. As mentioned, 100% of the proceeds go to support Icelandic environmental causes.

If the two of them got married, her name would be Bjork York.

I really don't like this
But I like both of them
This is going to be a problem....like, it's making my head hurt.
There is definitely merit to atonal non-metered music, but this is just awkward. It doesn't work for me.

Where's the Yorke !?
But you're right the drums on this are insane, I really like this.

I actually think this is pretty good.. Liars is definatley a good reference point. I don't hear Yorkey boy anywhere on it though - maybe some of those backing vocals? What the hell time signature is that, for any musicians reading.. 7/8 time?

Bloody Awful. Reminds me of bad Swans tracks.

Congrats to the ten people who got to hear this. Any chance of a re-post?
Score = 2
wow this is kind of sad.. do you really think she wanted the song to get out before the date she intended it to be????????? if i was bjork id be disgusted at the people, who i bet wont even donate, who just steal video/song,post it and ruin it for people who LOOK FORWARD to the release.
???????????????????

um... nice: luv it! ...and who says it's darker than "volta"?! it's "natturally" brighter! ;-)

If I didn't know beforehand, I'd say she SAMPLED Yorke's voice.
But you can hear it...it seems heavily processed, not unlike several songs through Radiohead's own Kid A/Amnesiac era.
I love the song, by the way...Yorke's vocal effects are haunting...they give me the chills...and the percussion is insane.
Score = 1
Bah, Youtube sucks. Or more like the label sucks. Why would you yank a video you want exposed to the world? I don't get it.
Score = 1
I'm sorry but this is waste of Thom Yorke's time...any random guy on street could have "participated" to this... i was expecting something more of lines of "ive seen it all" from these 2.

beauté et violence vite l'album en France et quelle belle grande distribution bravo que du bonheur!

I love this song, but yes I agree it would be lackluster without Brian Chippendale. I had no idea who he was prior and am now in looveee. Bjork has a way of finding just the right people to collaborate with while keeping her touch. She will always be my favorite and never cease to sting me deep.
