New Brendan Benson Demos

With Jack and Meg reuniting and the Raconteurs' extended victory lap outta the way, Brendan's free to return to his erstwhile pastime of making damn fine power-pop. (We suspect a few more people will be paying attention this time around.) Some demos of his new batch of solo stuff leaked, our two faves being the Cars-y "Poised And Ready" (grab it at Gorilla Vs. Bear) and the jazzy McCartney of "Poisoned Mind," which you can grab (among others) here. Very promising.

No doubt Brendan's the best Detroit songwriter in Nashville.

This is getting out of hand... not only are records leaking months in advance, but now people are leaking DEMOS en-masse for records that haven't even been made yet?! Just let the guy make the thing.

Lapalco is such an amazing record! I'm really happy he's putting some more stuff out! Very talented!
