New Cardigans Video - "I Need Some Fine Wine And You, You Need To Be Nicer"

My friend Nick always claimed that The Cardigans were awesome back
back when all anyone knew about them was that they sang "Lovefool." It's good to see that they are still around... I kind of stopped paying attention a while ago. The video for their new single features a confused pit bull, and the singer in a shiny dress. Vinyl? Leather? I dunno.

Check out it out here. (Real Player required)

Thanks Joey for the link.

The Cardigans RULE! Long Gone Before Daylight (their last album) was amazing...this new one is shaping up to be just as good.

If you want it I would order it from Amazon UK or something like I did with Long Gone...it took a couple of months for it to be released in America and the extra money was worth it to get it 3 months early.

People knew about the Cardigans before "Lovefool." Their early stuff on Minty Fresh was prime mid 90s hipster fare.

love love love this band. Long Gone Before Daylight was indeed awesome. It took almost a whole year to get it released in the US. I imagine it will take as long to get the new one out over here. Unless we get some people to stage a protest a la "Free Fiona."

We could send sweaters to their record label. Who's with me??

What's that? No one else cares about the cardigans? Alright then.

:)

Erase/Rewind: one helluva makeout song... if you don't listen to the lyrics, of course.

Update! The album comes out October 17 in the UK, and for 13 pounds (about $25) you can order it from amazon.co.uk and it includes two bonus tracks and a dvd!!! The DVD that came with the US version of Long Gone was great and I am sure this will be too (yes i had to rebuy the usa version after buying the import to snag the dvd)...

I sent this link in to the guest hosts earlier today... glad they had a chance to post it.

So, does anyone know if there are plans to release the new Cardigans new album in the states? I just refuse to spend $25 buying an import CD. It's a principle thing. And a being broke thing.

i'm surprised itunes in the us isn't going to carry it...especially after releasing the itunes originals...that was a very nice compliment to Long Gone... it surprised me to see it one there. ..Fine Wine.. is a great song, and the video is cute. SIT!

nice work, cardigans! loved the 2nd & 3rd album. was ambivalent about the 4th and 5th. so far, this new one sounds like it's got promise. can't wait to hear the rest.

The Cardigan's lead singer sang alot with mark Linkous on Sparklehorse last (and really excellent) album "It's a Wonderful Life". Highly recommended.

Good stuff...I hope there's another Black Sabbath cover on this album! And whoever said it, Erase/Rewind is a great song.

Nina Persson also did some stuff with Shudder to Think, as well as with Nathan Larson after STT broke up.

To echo Dave D above, Long Gone Before Daylight was a great album - and very underrated. Also, this band is tremendous live. Saw them in support of LGBD at TT's and it was a fun show. Nina is not hard on the eyes either.

The albums since "Lovefool" have been nothing short of fantastic, the last album "Long Gone Before Daylight" was their masterpiece. The new album "Super Extra Gravity" is really an amazing album too, I have heard it a couple times now, so good!

The Cardigans are looking into a new american label, so it won't get out in the states until next year most likely, according to their website.

Amazon UK does have the best price for an import, I for one cannot wait for mine to arrive.

Nina Persson and Mark Linkous also made that A Camp album together.

"Super Extra Cavity" is really good. Not as gorgeously sad as "Long Gone Before Daylight," but in the same vein. I do wish they'd do "fun" again, at least once, but I can't really complain. The Cardigans have done no wrong in my book. One of the most underrated groups ever?

The dress is satin, and I love the Cardigans. And yes, it was because of "Lovefool." (Keep in mind that I was like 10 when it came out.) No matter how many times it's been on the radio, I never got tired of it.

Well I already got it yesterday at Mixup here in Monterrey, Mexico, it comes with a DVD but the Bonus tracks are not included, "Give Me Your Eyes" and "Slow" so I had to download them, lol, it is great that Cardigans came out finally with a new album, they are simply awesome, be sure to listen to Long Gone Before Daylight.
Nina, Peter, Lasse, Bengt and Magnus u guys rule!

plus still the same depressing lyrics...

not my favorite album by the cardigans

Thanks for the link to the video... had no idea about the new album till I saw it. It's also good to see Nina went back to being a blonde... don't typically go for blondes, but I think it works best for her
