New DJ Shadow - Outside

Early reports hinted The Outside was gonna be somewhat of a party, not another DJ Dracula masterpiece.

You probably heard "3 Freaks," featuring Keak Da Sneak and Turf Talk. Stream here (SWF). Not your father's Shadow, eh? Hip-hop heavyweights David Banner and E-40 guest at the mic as well, and on the club-ready "Enuff" Q-Tip and Lateef speak the truth about shiny dance floors. First, however, Mr. Davis goes to Washington with two Bush-bashin' tracks about Hurricane Katrina. Elsewhere, Stateless' Chris James (who must always be blogged in the same breath as Chris Martin) delivers the easy-listening on "You Made It." That's for the kids who don't like hyphy.

Some samples:

DJ Shadow (Feat. Q-Tip & Lateef The Truth Speaker) - "Enuff" WIN MEDIA | REAL
DJ Shadow (Feat. Chris James) - "You Made It" WIN MEDIA | REAL

Outside's out 9/12. A mixed bag for sure, but they can't all be the Nadia Comaneci of turntablism.

I believe it's called "the outsider"... just saying, that's all.

I saw this project at The Sonar in Barcelona.
They sucked big time !

Sounds like cheap L.A. Hip-hop.

if you hunt around then you can see the URLs of the mp3s used in the shadow swf music player. For example, 3 Freaks (stinks) is here: http://www.djshadow.com/_media/audio/freaks.mp3
