New Flaming Lips - "I Was Zapped By The Lucky Super Rainbow"

Since we just had the Lips on our lips, thought it'd be good to check in with Camp Coyne and see what the Flaming ones are doing to keep their psychedelic circus rolling. Answer? Contributing a song to the Jessica Alba/Dane Cook cinematic abortion Good Luck Chuck. Trippy! As always, Wayne's got a knack for track titles, and he represents especially well if it's a soundtrack tune. For the indielicious Sider-man 3 ST, there was "The Supreme Being Teaches Spiderman How To Be In Love," and this one's just a couple of words short of the Spidey glory: "I Was Zapped By The Lucky Super Rainbow." Sounds about as joyous as being zapped by a lucky super rainbow would be, especially the man-child's "You're a lucky muthafucka!" at about 1:18. Have a listen at Hypem.

The Good Luck Chuck soundtrack is out today on Lion's Gate. Take the jump for the tracklist, which includes a title track from BJM-faves the Dandy Warhols. And they win points for not including one of Dane's shitty piano ballads. Congrats.

02 The Honorary Title - "Accident Prone"
03 The Dandy Warhols - "Good Luck Chuck"
04 The Feeling - "Love It When You Call (Cherrytree House Version)"
05 Art Brut - "Good Weekend"
06 Shout Out Louds - "Hurry Up Let's Go"
07 Aidan Hawken - "Shut Me Out"
08 Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings - "You're Gonna Get It"
09 Pepper - "The Whistle Song"
10 The Cars - "You Might Think"

The Flaming Lips are just about the only band that can make selling out come off as cute and adorable. I mean, come on, 90210, all those TV commercials, Spiderman, Wedding Crashers, etc. etc. Yet I still love 'em.

Uh...this still sort of being an MP3 blog, wouldn't it make sense to post an MP3 of said song?

As long as the Lips keep their ticket prices at 20 bucks (which is remarkable considering how elaborate their stage show is), I could give 2 f**ks where they place their music. All this misplaced sell-out-rage is comical.

i paid 36 bucks (before getting raped by ticketmaster) to see them last week.

i dont mind offsetting their balloon budget tho.
