I'd say it sounds more like one of those things NBC puts together about 2 months before the Olympics or football finals or whatever is on, to try to rev people up.

As a huge dave grohl and foo fighters fan its my duty to like this song, but i've gotta say i was a bit dissapointed when i first heard it. I expected a bit more, i don't know what, but just that little bit more would have given it the edge. Coming from a huge fan, I thought the last album was complete trash, as did Dave (See his interviews in Misc. Rock Mags this month). He thought it had 3 or 4 good songs, but the rest were not them at all.
When I hear this song, it reminds me of the songs before the last album. Sure, its a little poppy, but so what? I love this song.
Dave's putting his soul into the next album and giving it everything he has to create something to be remembered forever. This is their 10th anniversary album, remember? He wants the world to look at it as a symbol of who they are.
I love the Foo Fighters, and the last album didn't change that, but I love what theyre doing now.
In any case, I'm still the only high schooler in my town to have a Foo Fighters patch on his letter jacket :-p

Who in the hell keeps comparing Foo Fighters to Nirvana....They dont't even want to be compared to Nirvana and they arn't trying to be. Some people are just born fucking stupid. This is a very good song. Dave is one of the best and most down-to-earth musicians in our generation. There is Nothing Left to Lose is my favorite Foo album because of all the emotion it brings to me when I listen to it.

For The last time everyone, success is not measured in being on a major label. Believe me major labels make music feel like a product. Everyone has the wrong impression in thinking you need major label contract to be successful. Foo Fighters got some skills, there's no question about that. I love Grohl's mature attitude about it, let's just be as creative as we can, have some fun, if they don't like it f***k em. But there is simply no parallel between them and any of Led's stuff. 'Best of You' is great but will be forgotten quickly, 'Stairway to Heaven' is immoral.

nirvana has changed the way we look at music; for better or for worse, and we have to accept that
foos are a great band, color and the shape is a kick ass album, but they havn't achieved the "level of influence" nirvana made on music. im not saying they have no chance, but saying they havn't made the impact nirvana has.
