I was a little put off at first by the womanly falsetto, but after it got to the chorus I wasn't too bothered by it. I've listened to this new song several times now, and I think it's pretty good.
I like it quite a bit more than the new Killers' track. Obviously it's not ground-breaking art, but that's not to be expected. But they're good at what they do. It's just fun stuff to sing along with and rock-out to every once in awhile. And there's nothing wrong with that.

For real, it's just so trendy to hate Jet, isn't it? I bought 'Get Born'. I liked it. I haven't listened to it in awhile, but I look back on it fondly. I'm not crazy about this but it definitely makes a fun little single and it beats the crap out that annoying Wolfmother song, in my opinion. Both bands are highly unoriginal, but that's okay sometimes. It's how genres keep going.

Ripping off Oasis would be ironic and understandable but ripping off an unknown San Diego band is just...odd. We sold out early when a demo of our country song "Put Your Honey Where My Mouth Is" ended up on a L'Oreal website years ago but we finally re-recorded it for our new album. As far as "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" sounding a lot like our "Got No Time", sure it's Iggy Pop/Supremes but, funny enough, I thought it'd be funny to steal an Oasis melody ("Hindu Times") for the chorus. Why is everyone soooo obsessed with Wolfmother? There are literally tens to hundreds of bands that have been doing the exact same thing and much better. Fu Manchu anyone? Clutch? Witchcraft? The Sword?

People have to realise that there has been so much music released nowadays. It's almost impossible to hit chords or notes that haven't been used in someone else's song.
