New Kanye West - "Love Lockdown" A few days late, but the studio version of Kanye's brokenhearted sing-along is up for streaming at the kanYe west: Blog, featuring all the heartbeat beats and autotune you've come to know and love since Sunday. 808's & Heartbreak is out on 12/16.

this song has so much potential, but the chorus seems to just be missing a little something. what do you guys think?

i feel like i'm listening to the wrong song. is the whole thing that R&B song? where's the rapping? if i wanted to listen to music i'd listen to, you know, real music by real musicians.

love letdown is more like it
sounded better live, and even that wasn't great

song's amazing. Love his new direction, and the emotion. I think after this album drops, people may start thinking of Kanye as a "real musician" kevin

I don't know I kind of like it. very hypnotic. the bass is great. a slow trance tune with vocoder and auto tune. I really can't hate on this.

I think it's pretty close to great, but it also misses it's mark by a longshot. The chorus just seems off, and the song is too repetitive. But it's also catchy and emotional. Maybe a bridge would've helped?

I'm a little disappointed myself... kinda sounds like a demo. Part of me can appreciate the minimalist-leaning qualities, but I can't say I'm convinced yet.

I am, however, really intrigued about the direction of this upcoming album.

Until I see this for sale on iTunes, or even on his album, I'm betting on it being a work in progress. Kanye changed Stronger pretty often (not as drastically as I think he will here, but still) and I'm expecting a lot more work on the lead vocal (the hook) and eliminating the subtle buzz throughout. Plus you can hear him clapping at one point during the hook.

Unless his new thing is sort of "rough and raw" music I don't think this is the final version. Still, a wicked song that could be incredible with more work. I can only hope Jon Brion is back on this album in a big way. That ending breakdown is so "Heard 'Em Say".

It's grown on me since the VMA performance, but my only problem is that the chorus seems really muffled and strange. If only it was a bit more enunciated like that VMA version, I'd be more pleased. So in that way, I agree with Sean. This sounds like a demo--a mixtape version. If this is a fully mastered copy that ends up on the album, well...that's not good. But the song itself is most definitely a grower, so I suppose that's a positive.

I'm screaming NO, NO, NO, NUH-NO! to this song. The live version did sound a lot better than the studio version. Especially that clickity-clack sound during the chorus. Sort of sounds like Daft Punk's Digital Love ironically. THe rest of the album better be good

I think this is just a Demo version.
And only Kanye would have the arrogance to release something this unfinished.

When the chorus hits, his voice is incredibly weak and, at parts, clearly out of tune (even WITH auto-tune).

You can also hear the Click Track come in during the Chorus, which is a clicking tempo guide for people recording vocals or instruments.

It'd be one thing if he announced that it was just a Demo...
but he even posted it with the Artwork which is really misleading.

but that's Kanye for you.

i don't care whether it's a demo or not, i can't hear much potential. hiring jon brion to gloss it up won't make it a well-written song...

yup its missing Somthing....Maybe some t-pain and a lil change on that drum beat. but as far as the rest of the song its pretty sick. kanye sounds real good with that heart beat be. He makes that beat, but realy some change is needed but theres lots of potential for it being a new hit.
