New Killers (Feat. Lou Reed) - "Tranquilize"

Big thanks to reader Michelle LaCosse for knowing we were dying of curiosity about this one. She wrote:

As earlier reported by you guys the Killers have teamed up with Lou Reed to record the song "Tranquilize". It was premiered on Radio One today ... Each to its own...
To each his own indeed. This comes from the same Killers b-sides collection that brought you "Shadowplay" and the sylvian alarm clock font. Know how you thought the cover of Joy Division was a tough one to swallow? Try and make it through these verses without gagging. The track's bookended by lead vocals from Brandon and Lou respectively, though it's mostly the bombastic B. Flow show up in here. But kudos to the Killers for letting Lou carry the last run; there's effortless authenticity, there, and it shows.

Do Okkervil River next, Lou.

Sawdust is out 11/13 on Island.

Hmm, enjoyed about the first 20 sec of this one before it turns into another 'run of the mill' killers anthem

One of the top 3 most unbearable things about listening to the Killers is hearing Brandon Flowers' fruitless experimentation with vocal-styles-for-lead-singers-who-can't sing. This Karen O/Paul Banks effort is particularly unfortunate.

I wanna like these guys again, but they need focus.

if this is the direction the 3rd album is heading then i'm still in for the ride.

killers still rule for me... yes, even with brandon's ineffective vocals -- the guy's REALLY trying!

I don't think anyone can hate on this. It's too pathetic. Sorry Lou.

this song is kind of like when someone you know has a chubby, controlling girlfriend. It doesn't make me like lou reed less, by any means...but seriously, dump her, man! dump them, lou!

I like how the Killers keep experimenting and changing. You can't hate on them for that.

I'm sorry for not being snarky like the rest of you, but I actually liked it. I have heard far, far worse, and thought that Lou Reed's voice worked surprisingly well with Brandon Flowers' whine.

I love this song!! People need to start LISTENING bc this is a great song. Stop letting your jealousy of a band blind your senses!!! I have and will always love them because they try new things and are not boring like most of the stuff these days.

The song is really beautiful. It must really get to the haters when Reed calls The Killers "a genuinely great band".

Yeah, this really is a great f'n song. The voices of Flowers and Reed work surprisingly well. Thumbs up for The Killers, once again.

Ever heard of creed, or the holocaust. sales aren't reflective of quality.

that 'horrible chorus hook' is passe and blah. it was a mistake. they should have done a b-side. having kids sing in on a song like that, is pretty damn trite.

Two points: The Holocaust has nothing to do with sales. Unless, that is, you're referencing the Scottish band, which makes this post hilarious based on the contrived cliche that is you.
Second- you have a comma in the wrong place.

I enjoyed the track. Little different.

I agree with Nicky Wire regarding the killers (IE a load of old smelly balls)

However, I really like this track though, it's ace
