New Liz Phair: Somebody's Baby

Liz Phair's new album (out 10/4) now has an official title: Somebody's Miracle. It was produced by John Alagia (John Mayer, Jason Mraz) and John Shanks (Sheryl Crow, Chris Isaak). But before you dismiss it, let's hear what Liz had to say about the new tunes in Spin -- maybe it'll sound like old Liz Phair!

LIZ PHAIR: I wouldn't say it sounds like old Liz Phair. But it's definitely more band-driven than pop. The last record had a lot more shebang in the production; this has a lot more emphasis on the songs.
Preview clips from five songs here (or here).

If you're not impressed you can relive happier times by streaming "Fuck And Run" (and other oldies) at MySpace ... and commend her for still being hot (NSFW).

I'm at work. It was therefore necessary to pretend like I didn't see bullrider's post and click the link because I love tits.

And by the way, bullrider, you're the beeyatch. THIRD POST, CUMDUMPSTER!

Has anyone actually listened to this shit?
Could someone please tell Ms. Phair that we don't need another Celine Dion?

From the first clip:
baby just stick with me, we'll make it together just wait and see
do you really know me at all?
would you take the time to catch me if I fall?

other notable cliches:
walls they close in
shadow of a doubt
etc, etc.

Is this really the same woman who wrote Divorce Song?

Heartbreaking.

She has just gone totally off the rails. She makes me want to listen to Kelly Clarkson. What the hell happened to Liz? She used to be cool. Now I have to go clean out my ears.

once upon a time, liz phair was actually good! then she decided she wanted to compete with britney, christina, and the "new" jewel. and it was all down hill from there. sad. very sad.

I.... Wanna Soak Up the Sun!!!!!

Oh, wait, this is Liz Phair and not Sheryl Crow. Gotcha. Shanks influence is definately apparent here. He made her sound just like Crow... not good.

I don't think any of her new stuff is as good as the old, but I can't be mad at a bitch for wanting to make some money. I'll just listen to fuck and run and blowjob queen, they've been all i've needed from her anyway.

Well I think it's great. Times have changed...we aren't in the 90's anymore, so of course music has changed. Do you expect people to still walk around wearing tie-dye shirts, neon colors, and the infamous overalls only buttoned on one side? Let's move on people...Liz is still just as amazing as she always was - if not moreso now.
