New Menomena - Friend And Foe

We've made no secret of our Menomena love, but Friend And Foe is even better than we expected. The record's got a perfect mix of experimental passages and hook-worth melodies, with the trio's nasty instrumental arrangements and consistently explosive writing. Maybe you've heard some songs, maybe you're waiting 'til you have the full record to give it a spin. And if the latter's the case, this one's for you; we're psyched to give you your first legit listen of the album, streaming here. But don't bother until you have at least fifteen minutes to set aside for an uninterrupted sitting with the its killer opening four tracks. It'll make the cubicle feel a little less depressing today. Promise.

Friend And Foe is out 1/23/07 on Barsuk.

I know. I have been listening to the record NON STOP all day. a mazing. How good is Evil Bee??
I also did a post about them today. I wish they would tour with 31knots over here instead of the west coast.

If people here don't have The Fun Blame Monster yet, get it.

I personally think it dominates this new Menomena, but both are exceptional.

"I am the Fun Blame Monster" is awesome, and the band is very underrated.

I saw them 2 years ago at the Mercury Lounge and they were amazing.

Jesus Christ, this is stunning. I wasn't planning on hearing it all the way through, but I've got 3 songs left now and I don't want it to end.
