New Michael Jackson (Feat. Akon) - "Hold My Hand"

thumbnail icon: New Michael Jackson (Feat. Akon) - "Hold My Hand"

Michael's still hugging and rearing children (he said "rearing children"), Akon still loves throwing them offstage and dry humping them onstage, and that's why I get so moved when I hear them sing the lyric "hold my hand" in this new jam (not jam) "Hold My Hand." These are just normal, affectionate guys talking about engaging in normal, affectionate behavior. It's all very convincing.

My favorite part of this song, which might be on MJ's forthcoming album, is not the banal and generic lyrical motif that effectively screams "I've never been in a functional relationship in my life," and is not those instances of hip autotune, but the fact that if you squeeze your eyes close enough and tilt your head you can hear a few shades of Spice Girls' "2 Become 1" in there. But that's probably just because I am always thinking about Michael Jackson and Spice Girls first thing in the morning.

PREVIOUSLY IN AKON & MICHAEL JACKSON: Akon manages to fuck up "Wanna Be Startin' Something" ... by making it sound like Train.

It's not a new Michael Jackson single and it 's definetely not going to be in his new album but Akon's!! It is Akon feat. Michael Jackson!! MJ just sings the first lines and then some vocals.

Is it so difficult for you to talk just about music without any personal life remarks

Haha I think everyone owes Stereogum a big "thank you" for putting up this news because these rabid Jacko freaks' comments are sure helping me get through the day. Was there a bell tolled at the Neverland Ranch or perhaps one of those giant prayer sirens alarmed in Bahrain to alert these people to come here or something? Me and my friend, Corey Feldman could have used such a system back in the '80s...

I'm amused and saddened that you listed Tabloid Junkie and Scream, two of the man's worst ever songs, as examples of why he's "King of Music". Do you even like music?

I think Jay Cee BX isn't offering those as bad examples of M.J. songs as much as they're stringing M.J. song titles together to somehow put together a diss or something along those lines towards Stereogum. I'm glad the comment board allows me to laugh without prejudice as I'm certain a lot of these commenters are from foreign nations (particularly those with anti-17-hour-a-day-internet-usage camps).

lol - hardcore MJ fans seem so out of touch.

here's a good joke I heard - how do you know when it's bedtime at Michael Jackson's house? ......when he shoves his cock in a child's asshole.

On a lighter note, I do believe the guy will always own the title of King of Pop for what he did during the 70s and 80s. This song sounds alright, whether or not the new album will be worth listening to remains to be seen. I'm happy enough to give it praise if deserved.

the most ironic story of rock history:
you see people, micheal jackson is more like the prince of pop. paul mccartney i think is actually the king of pop. remember kids when the prince silently outbid the king on the rights to the beatles catalog? then the prince got burned to a crisp while filming a "pop" commercial only to become that hideous creature we all still treasure so.

God bless Michael Jackson and Akon, but this seems to be more about me than them. My art can be found at www.myspace.com/blindmind91. Today I sang Will You Be There. Read the David Bowie article and the comments. Modern Loves (Since I Was Three And Four).

I am one of the greatest artists ever, and agents and managers refuse to talk to me. They have no clue. They sit around moping all day about how their industry is falling apart, while at the same time refusing to nurture talent and realize the stars change. I have been ignored for 10 years and haven't quit. I'm not talking about making art half time, I'm talking about my art being completely committed. It's really crazy. Me being ignored and the way people "in the business" have treated me speaks to the lunacy and nothing else. I am the artist. I made art, the art of Wintersox. Sorry if you don't know.

That is not to say, my art is better than Michael Jackson's. I write and sing. Michael Jackson is a very special person, and so am I. We have done the two best versions in existence of Thriller. My version had me singing like James Brown, Michael's idol. He is the King Of Pop, and that's fine, I'm Forever Young and Invincible.

Check out the pictures section on the website. Read the blog. I've worked hard. I have earned the rock star artist if you like it or Iggy Pop.

I know who I am, and it's the kind of person who would never believe you could describe me, especially when I am a famous artist. The art is the art, not what is said about it. My idea of fun is performing on stage. I'd rather see girls, do drugs, and perform on stage thank bicker with you about what rock and roll is.

Janet had her wardrobe malfunction around the time Michael started having a really hard time with his face. I think the two are related. It seems to me that on some worldwide level it was Janet showing her sympathy and frustration for what was happening with her brother. That's how it presented itself though in a family of entertainers. It's also possible that she lost her top and everyone Screamed.

Thriller IS the best selling album of all time, 104 million. And, MJ sold over 750 million albums and has the most awards than any other entertainer in music history. If that doesn't say much too you haters, then you are just being stupid. MJ is coming back and replacing all the crap music by Miley Cyrus or Jonas Brothers. People who just don't have talent should not sing. MJ is a child prodigy, so there is no question about MJ's talent. MJ is awesome!!

When did it become fruitful to dispute tastes? I must have missed the memo. . . . Discussion is one thing, reasoned criticism is another, but throwing out unsupported opinions on the entertainment value of pop culture and judging the character of indivuduals by whether or not they agree is an exercise in narcissism, not to mention futility as there have never been, to my knowledge, two individuals whose tastes were entirely in accord.
