New New Pornographers - "Hey, Snow White"
Fair enough, at this point you wouldn't be mistaken to think Dark Was The Night's become an institutionalized month-long holiday (like end-of-the-year lists, natch), but the notable tracks keep coming, so it seems OK to continue rolling out the red carpet. This time it's New Pornographers channeling Dan Bejar, ostensibly addressing Snow White, though things aren't always what they seem. The "hey Snow White, it's gonna be alright, it's gonna be alright" is for her, or whoever's getting that nickname, but it's more difficult knowing just whose company's going public and just who, in turn, needs to learn to love what they own.
So, is there anyone left to top Sufjan at this point?
Dark Was The Night is out 2/17 via 4AD.

Hey, Snow White is a Destroyer song. This is a cover.
Score = 2
Um, cover of the Destroyer song?
Score = -1
this is actually a reworking of a destroyer song (on This Night), so it is most likely mr bejar's lyrical turn...
Score = -2
Judging by the past three comments, just in case anyone missed it, this is a Destroyer cover.
Score = 8
too bad it isn't 7 minutes long (or, 28 minutes in montreal).
Score = 1
You are all correct. I need more coffee. Fixed.
Score = -2
I like the idea of Dark Was the Night as a national holiday--a holiday that lasts for the 2.5 mins that I spend streaming here...Someone should suggest to the people who just wrote this "Every day is a holiday" blog entry [http://is.gd/iE0b] that they add "Dark was the Night"...I think maybe I will!

Who cares if its a Destroyer cover, Mr Bejar is in the NP"S. "Channeling" this is not.
Score = -1
I like Carl's shirt. That's a good color for him. And I like that they tricked Neko into thinking the photoshoot was a brown toga party.
Score = 1
That's an old picture, but damn...Neko and That keyboardist who is Carl's niece are easy on the eyes. I have three.
Testicles.

Wow you don't leave your house, do you?
Score = 1
where's the mp3?

Yeah for everyone that keeps saying its a Destroyer's song... Dan Bejar is involved with both projects. He writes most of the Destroyer's stuff and created the band, but he has written a couple songs for The New Pornographers too... so I'm pretty sure he was there when The New Pornographers decided to "cover" Destroyer...
