New Patrick Wolf - "The Marriage"

So that whole "My final concert will be this November" thing was a hoax, or maybe just a young man coming to terms with the endless scrutiny of slow-building stardom. Anyway, Wolf saved saved this glitchy, theatrical gem from the Magic Position sessions for a B-side treat, making a nice reconciliatory treat for fans and skeptics alike. We're glad you reconsidered, Patrick. Just keep your stands to yourself. (via P4K)

I don't know why this guy is getting slammed all the time. I like this cut and I think he makes interesting music.

Patrick Wolf is fantastic. Saw him live a week ago and he put on a great show. Try as I might I cannot get into many "Poppy" artists but Patrick has sold me. His new sound has matured nicely. I love the electronics he incorporates. He's also quite a gentlemen and very friendly.

Here's a great picture of him from that night:

Is he 23 or 12?
Seriously, does he think what's he's doing is really that important to the world?
Well based on his recent announcement that he'd be working with "Iraqi musicians" he makes a band like Creed look humble:

"I may be going to Iraq to record the classical album," he lets slip with mischievous glee. "With Prince Harry going to join the British army in Iraq, it seems that he's making a public gesture to promote war. Well, I'd like to go there to create something positive out of their negativity. I'll be working with I've found an all-female orchestra there"

He's (acting like) just another dumb hippie that doesn't understand a fucking thing that's going on in the world. He's so persecuted! It's so difficult for him to tour and stay in hotel rooms and get paid for making music. Oh the stress! Well Patrick, if you do make it to Iraq - be sure to tell them all about your problems.

He's young so perhaps I'm being unduly harsh, but I for one am sick of hearing from rich, spoiled kids.

How can a kid who still looks like he's just dancing around his bedroom, lipsyncing to his sister's Depeche Mode tapes while wearing her lipgloss be worth paying to see? He is so gawky and boring, I almost wish I hadn't wasted any DVR space recording his appearance on Conan. Alas, now I know that he, like most acts championed on Stereogum, is a fluffy imitation of something that came from the 80's.

Ok first of all "TitoP" kiss my ass, and come back when you can play over 21 different instruments, write all of your songs yourself, and single-handedly compose and produce all of your own albums...Then maybe you would be entitled to an opinion. And secondly why does it make him "just another dumb hippie that doesn't understand a fucking thing that's going on in the world." because he is a pacifist and doesn't beleive that the war in Iraq is right?! most would argue that the ones who don't understand a fucking thing thats going on in the world are the ones that are promoting the war!
P.S. Patrick Wolf isn't rich! And probably won't make any money off of his records for a very long time! Also, He never said he was quiting music in the first place he said that he was going to quit doing interviews and shows which he had decided on doing (at least for a little while) before he ever left that post on his forum.
