New Prince - "Song Of The Heart"

The Artist Formerly Known As Relevant has a new tune streaming exclusively at AOL. It's a fun, little funk song with some kick-ass brass. Nothing earth-shattering, but we should note it's for the soundtrack to Happy Feet, an animated children's movie about animals. (No, it's cool -- even Westerberg does it now.)

The movie is about penguins who fall in love. Gay penguins we hope; we think that's cute.

Listen here.

On an unrelated note, I just saw a NASDAQ commercial on Fox News (yeah, yeah, I'm procrastinating from homework) that had an Of Montreal song as its theme. WTF?

Muahaha. This is why I read stereogum - an infusion of surreality to my day. All those hipsters can complain all they want about this blog losing its credibility, selling out, etc etc. Music isn't about one genre - just like this blog isn't about one genre. So keep on writing those stories about the bands I've never heard of, because posts about gay penguins and the formerly-relevant Prince make it all worthwhile

Prince would win at Guitar Hero, though.

What the heck is going on. I love Of Montreal and they keep doing stupid comeercials, remember Outback? I don't understand I only know two people who even ever heard of them.

This song is infecting my heart!

And it's keeping from sleeping.

"Za-da-dee, za-da-da,
everybody get up, clap your hands,
dancing 2 the beat..."

Prince, I LOVE you man!

Prince has and will always be my favorite. If I was stranded on a deserted island and had to pick one artist, musician, showmann to entertain me on that island, it would have to be Prince. There are a lot of talented people out there but no one covers the kind of genres and possesses the range of talent and pure genius that this man has. Those that like to argue can go ahead and talk all that they want but Prince is the complete package and we all know it. May not always give us the product that we want when we want it, but when we need it he always comes through. Music, movies, opera, song writing ability, showmanship, people person, role model in terms of his continual growth as a musician, Superstar and most importantly as a person- Prince is one genuine humanbeing. I pray that God continues to shower upon him life and success and bless him with anything that he desires.

Forever a Fan,
