New Radiohead Lyrics - "Rubbernecks"

By way of NME, there's a snippet of lyrics from a new Radiohead song up on their blog:

their dotting all the tees
and crossing their eyes
welcome to the future
it opened up my eyes
its creeping up the car park
its coming up the drive
rubbernecks with cameras
petrol and bonfires(heres the loud bit)

we need to keep away the rubbernecks
we need to keep away the rubbernecks
me me my my

Nice touch, rhyming "eyes" with "eyes". Like when rappers rhyme "bitch" with "bitch". Then again, this is a guy who prefaced the lyrics with "at the moment its a demo. when is a demo not a demo? when its in time. whats in time?" Way to make Chris Martin look smart, "Thm".

Is it really possible to make Chris Martin look smart?

He used the wrong "their" in the first line of his own song, for starters...

yeah! stone him!

because if there's one thing that's important in this world, it's spelling!

you're all just a bunch of rubbernecks.

Dude. Thom frequently posts poorly typed, strange things on the Intertron. There's a long history of such posts on the radiohead.com messageboard, among other places. I mean, shit, just look at the Dead Air Space archives for the other things he's written.

Also, he's rather clearly not actually rhyming "eyes" with itself. He's rhyming "i's" with "eyes." He just doesn't bother to type well. Ever.

Let's save the merciless mocking for when they're done with their album. Or will that be when it's time to fawn all over them again? I get so confused as to the proper schedule of these things sometimes...

Or better yet, let's save the mocking for when we've got something actually hilariously vicious to say, instead of letting fly when the insult is still in its asinine baby stages.

Wait, best idea yet: Let's save the venom for the entity you mention in your post most deserving of it, NME.

Those aren't radiohead lyrics. They're from Thom, er Thms own blog. He say's nothing about them being lyrics. They could be parcels of lyrics to come. They could be the crumbels of a muffin, too.

Like all things radiohead, i wouldn't take any of this seriously.

Now calm down boys.

Thom's really one of the last people that should be talking about crossing eyes?

it's always hard to read radiohead songs and see how they fit with the music. coldplay on the other hand...

closet/closet...nice (can't wait for the next 12 chapters on dvd)

what makes my life inside this torture camp so difficult is knowing that, somewhere in america, under-stimulated middle class white men are mocking a british rock star.

oh my god! he "rhymed" eyes with eyes!! Hey fucker, not every musician on the planet feels the need to rhyme every other word to make his or her songs stand out; thom rarely does.

get off his pale british ass or i swear to god you'll lose me forever.

I tend to believe anyone who takes blog comments/insults/jokes to heart is sort of sad.

Heh... it only confirms my growing suspicion that jonny greenwood is the genius of the band.

If Jonny Greenwood were the genius of the band, then why wasn't Bodysong the 2004 album of the year?

It's not the parts, it's the sum. I think they're all vital to the band and none of them could do anything worthwhile without each other. Did you hear that Harry Potter stuff? Well...not that that would've been listenable any how.
