New Rapture Video - "Whoo! Alright - Yeah ... Uh Huh!"

All reports of The Rapture's CMJ performances were over-the-top in their praise, but we know of what they speak. This Ben Dickinson directed clip for "Whoo! ..." sets the band in situations that capture all that we love about the punk-funkers: free-wheeling rooftop bbq-and-dance parties, bedroom jams, crusing through the gritty city, and all with super-imposed, over-the-top technicolor animation. Also known as "the perfect way to play hookey."

And if you think that's special (and even if you don't), take a listen to the Simian Mobile Disco remix of the track. The crowd pumping chant-along is transposed to the tune's start, and Simian Mobile build up from there. It's Rapture for the club kid in you.

I've always said that music videos today are lacking that Schoolhouse Rock animation infulence.

Hey, at least they're in a position to act like the Beastie Boys...

If I made a music video, I'd do exactly what Jimmy Fallon did for sure...

i think it's amazing to see them progress from a gang of four rip off band to this disco rock band they've become. i've loved this band every stage of the way and while i was a little disappointed with this record when it came out, it has REALLY grown on me. the video is of course a major label affair so it's got, well, a bunch of stupid crap in it, but who am i to judge....

They're driving along the JMZ in the Williamsburg/Bushwick area! When was this video shot and why was I not outside walking around!? This would have been really fun to watch!

I love the video and I don't care who knows it!

This is wonderful because the casting is great, the animation is well done, and the perpetual sunset feel is really nice. It makes the city seem so warm and inviting. I watched a higher res version of it and it's quite beautiful large.

Cute mashup of Gang of Four meets Talking Heads. Do they have any original tunes?

Wait, you mean that was supposed to be one?
