Did y'all notice a point at which the children were crying? It looked like they loved the ice cream and meg's dreamy detachment, but after the kid got up to dance on stage there were a few tears shed. In my mind we'd cut to a shot where Jack is hacking at the kid with his upright bass- but AOL music would cut that part out.

I swear, it seems that everything that fucking kid does is an attempt to manufacture his legacy.

White Stripes are a band.

Oh yeah, no one had heard that.

I found it weirdly charming. It goes from this kiddie concert where they're really playing adorably to the kids (I figured the crying was just sugar crashing kids getting cranky and they just left it in, White-Stripes style), to something slightly off, with the kids clinging to them and them trying to get away. Am I a bad person because I laughed out loud when Jack squished that little bugger's arm in the car window?

On shallow notes: 1) Jack films better than he photographs, and is especially good in black and white, but he should really reconsider the facial hair (though it looks like he's sticking with it--ooh, if they'd do a pirate-theme video that would work tho'). 2) I can really see where Meg lives in her own fun little world. 3) I'm glad those high-waisted Depression-era trousers are no longer in fashion, they make me look like barrels with diaper ass.

Does this video remind anyone of that Kidz Bop "Since You Been Gone" opus or is it just moi?

Remember when he used to be cute? Yeaaaaah. You knew he'd backlash that red and white thing hardcore, but who knew how nasty the results would be.

Jack White has the sleaziest moustache in music today. I'm seeing them play twice next week. Can't wait.

wonder why they picked 'my doorbell'?

either 'the denial twist' or 'take, take, take' would have been personal choice for next single.

even 'the nurse' or 'instinct blues' would be way more fun. my doorbell sort of bores me.
i think sometimes they release certain songs to enhance the album, like strokes releasing 'end has no end' that time, makes you prick up your ears more to the song which you at first didnt hold with much regard.

Jack's choice of singles is often curious. But somewhat irrelevant, when you think about it. At any rate, "Satan" has no real commercial hit singles on it. . . "Blue Orchid" included. Gotta love Jack for that.

I understand this vid was directed by the same team that gave us "Don't Phunk With My Heart".

Photos from two recent shows at below link (unabashed plug). No perfectly-lit close-ups of his slightly disturbing facial hair, though.

I liked "My Doorbell" from their latest ... it sort of reminds me of "My Ding-a-Ling"

ahhhh, this is a little rascals rip off.

and my doorbell is the most "pop" song on the album.

For some reason I thought the video would have Jack dorn an Afro, platform shoes, getting stood up by a date.

And like Meg would be um..banging something.

Is this why I'm not a director?

its the most 'pop' yeah, that exactly why its boring to me. its such a repetitive ditty.

its the most 'pop' yeah, thats pretty much why it bores me doofus, that means nothing - crazy frog can now be considered pop. its just a repetitve ditty

'the denial twist' could easily be a single, and i dont think jacks choice of singles has been "curious" at all so far, theyve all been very obvious choices. and to whom said its irrelevant, well its a matter of pop culture - ye know - like everything else here!! nerd.

i dunno, i like it - the vid is nuts. good nuts. icecream nuts.

take, take, take probably is my favourite on satan. its more than a mere coincidence that the girl in blue orchid looks like rita hayworth. his wife now i know. it would have made a good jack stalker vid. they should do it.

you asked why they picked "my doorbell", well its b/c its the most pop song...just answering your question...and the "end has no end" is the best song on room on fire, doofus.

and if you want to talk about repetitive songs, listen to, take take take.

denial twist would have made a good single.

Saw them last night 8/12 at the Greek in Berkely. It was a great show with a set list that featured more of the 1st 2 records than the last 2. The highlight was when Jack came out for the encore and played "lonely but I ain't that lonely yet" and "we're gonna be friends" A radio sation balloon landed on stage and he stopped the song dead and commented that rock radio stations suck and that these assholes ruined his song and owed him a written apology. He then started it over from the beginning. A truely Jack White moment. I have seen them 4 times and this was the best they have sounded.

Jmk was also at the show last night in Berkeley and it was great. I wrote about the radio ballon incident on my site, it was interesting but he threw a bit of a hissy fit if you ask me. It would have been cooler if he just commented on how those ballons suck and threw them off stage like he did without demanding "written apology" from the station, that is a but of a primadonna move if you ask me. But that aside the show was great.

You know those kids in the vid are actors cuz looking like that, Jack would give any real kid nightmares and then there's Meg's teeth...

Ok, this is starting to get frustrating – why am I the only one that thought that jack wasn’t pissed off about the balloons but was just making a sarcastic joke about the whole thing (I was there – 3’rd from the front, center stage – sweating and getting elbows thrown in my face). He had to address the distraction somehow and I thought that he did a good job of bringing the focus back to him and his music.

And another thing – why do people like “take, take, take” so much? They talk like it should have been the first single. That’s one of the songs I usually skip over. Am I just way off beat here?

I feel stupid when wathing my doorbell video.
Kids acting like adults that act like children.
Jack is surely laughing at us - fans. We are like little children when we see White Stripes. Doing all sorts of crazy stuff; in video we see icecreams instead of alcohol.
I feel stupid because i like him n his music, but he doesnt like me : |
When concerting in Poland (his mother's from Poland), Jack said in polish "I am a Pole, and this is my sister Meg", but Meg isn't his sister, so...

I think my doorbell vid is great luv the style and luv the way the stripes vids are never totally serious - in icky thump he falls off the cart, in the hardest button to button he smiles when he sings "my ma gave birth..." and the denial twist was kinda funny too. Take Take Take is a cool song but way over-rated - the denial twist DID make a single, forte. Its a better song for a single anyway;it does repeat but its just more single material than take take take which is a bit TOO repetitive, a bit TOO repetitive, a bit TOO repetitive. Ha ha. By the way, did any1 eva listen to take take take with headphones? Its so weird when his voice goes back and forth from one earfone to the other near the end. Cool, dude...
