New Albert Hammond, Jr. - "GfC"

thumbnail icon: New Albert Hammond, Jr. - "GfC"

Now that we have glimpsed Albert Hammond Jr.'s pretty vacant (apartment) album art, we can get to the more substantive business of hearing what the relatively prolific Stroke has in store for his second solo LP. "GfC," which is the tune's core chord progression (G-F minor-C, right guys?), is very promising, a quick cut or rangy, garagey guitars and a howling Hammond lead vocal. At what point does Julian feel threatened? Maybe at this point. The improperly conjugated ¿Cómo Te Llama? album is out 7/7 via Scratchie, but you can hear this one right now over at iLike (thanks for the tip, Adam).

UPDATE: Now with 100% more MP3...

Albert Hammond, Jr. - "GfC" (MP3)

Good tune.

The first album was really good, so I'm definetely excited for the new disc. It's actually due out July 8 though, and comes out digitally on June 17.

The album isn't out on Scratchie. It is out on RCA Black Seal. Says so on his myspace. The first album was on Scratchie, which is owned by James Iha and Adam Schlesinger.

never been a fan of the strokes but since I heard yours to keep I became fan of Albert, I think he pulled out a fantastic first record, millions of years ahead of the last of the strokes and for the 2 songs I have heard of the new one it seems julian must be jealous... loved this new song :-)

the spanish major nerd in me came out,, and well the title really isnt bad spanish unless he was trying to say what is your name, cause really it translates to "what does he/she call you? where "te" is a respectful way to address people....i hope someone interviews and asks him...hehehe....i like him.....

well, while the prase actually can be translated as "what does he/she call you?", I personally think it is a grammar error... I mean, I can guess he liked the way it sounded since "what's your name" it's a very common phrase in basic foreign language learning.

The sentence is grammatically correct. I am a spanish teacher. While it literally translates to "what do you call yourself?" It is the way it is said in spanish. It is in the formal or usted form of the verb so it seems to be directed to either someone unknown or someone he is showing respect towards. How do people post stuff like that when they really don't know, ignant I tells ya....

I meant "what do you call yourself" which is the way you ask, what is your name. The mistake is that the "te" is informal while "llama" is formal. So which is it, formal or informal?
