New Pet Shop Boys - "Love Etc."

thubmnail icon: New Pet Shop Boys - "Love Etc."

Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe teamed up with UK production team Xenomania for their forthcoming tenth studio album, Yes, which includes guest spots from Johnny Marr and string arrangements via Owen Pallett, aka Final Fantasy (aka whoa). But all we've heard is the first single "Love Etc.," co-written by Xenomania. It's a catchy, icy meld of Tennant's ageless voice spinning an excellently cynical -- but warm, because of the "love" component -- yarn about always needing more within a city of synthesizers, drum machines, and factory-line group chants that should appeal to fans of dance floors. (And Nitzer Ebb.) You need more, you need the love:

You don't have to be beautiful. But it helps.

Yes is out 3/23 in the UK via Parlophone. The "Love Etc." single's out 3/16 and will come with remixes by Gui Boratto, the Pet Shop Boys, Kurd Maverick and FrankMusik. Keep up to date at the PSB's new website.

I don't think I have ever put on a Pet Shop Boys record before, but this is really good.

the sound and melody line very liked " can you forgive her " and a little bit of "opportunities " anyway i think their new lp would better than the last one . Lots of critics praise the " fundamental" album be their best but i think not . I hope they will do the supreme lp likes " behavior " again . " Yes " would fit for their "very" 1993 album . anyway pet shop boys is the best for melodic synth pop .
post punk , new romantic, new wave.... will last forever
