Newport Folk Festival Announces 2008 Lineup

thubmnail icon: Newport Folk Festival Announces 2008 Lineup

Maybe some of the festivals we've been announcing are too loud for the folkier souls out there (Devendra). If that's the case, the Newport Folk Festival just unveiled their '08 lineup and new Dunkin' Donuts-free name. The longstanding fest's 49th year includes Jimmy Buffett, Cat Power, the Black Crowes, She & Him, Kaki King, Jim James, Calexico, and Jakob Dylan. We heard Jakob's gonna plug in. Shhh...

Jimmy Buffett
The Black Crowes
Levon Helm
The Avett Brothers
Cat Power
Jim James
Jakob Dylan
Stephen & Damian Marley
Gillian Welch
She & Him
Calexico
Kaki King
Brandi Carlile

Over The Rhine
The Felice Brothers

More TBA. The festival takes place 8/1 - 8/3 in Newport, RI. Tickets go on sale 4/23 here.
