Nightmares From Ultragrrrl

Nightmare Of You are playing tonight at 11 PM at the Delancey. Sarah says, "I am OBSESSED WITH THEM AND THINK THEY'RE AMAZING." Which must mean they sound like the Killers? Anyway, get off the couch and check 'em out!

Also tomorrow night is Ultra's Stolen Transmission party at the Orchard Bar. DJs Tarts Of Pleasure distribute the free Manishewitz at 1 AM.

they look like they sound like the Killers, and I don't even remember what the Killers sound like. Or look like.

Nightmare of you totally don't sound like the killers. Much more smiths-like, but dark and, daresay sexy, in a different way.
Definitely worth checking out.

As pedestrian as Sarah's tastes run, I cut her slack for defending Bloc Party in SPIN's SXSW wrap-up.

it's just so amazing to me that all these bands are so attractive. There must be some mysterious correlation between objective beauty and musical talent that scientists haven't isolated yet.

she's one of those media people who are contributing to the national gooification of people's minds that seems to be occuring in everything from politics to pop culture

I don't think Spin reports on bands unless they are attractive, and then makes sure to mention that they are attractive and/or well-dressed in every article and blurb about those bands. They spend more column inches on Sam Endicott's hair and Interpol's clothes than should be legal.
