Passion Pit Remix Yeah Yeah Yeahs

thubmnail icon: Passion Pit Remix Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Though Karen's "Off with your head" evokes Alice In Wonderland, the "Heads Will Roll" video played on the spooky synthesizer line via a well-dressed and (sorry) Michael Jackson-style werewolf's solo dance routine. The beloved wolfman shows up again on the cover of the forthcoming Heads Will Roll EP, which will include remixes of the It's Blitz! track by Tommie Sunshine, Little Vampire (aka Nick Zinner), James Iha, and Passion Pit. In Passion Pit's revision, the aforementioned synthesizer gets buried, blurred, and scattered amid additional electronic layers, giving the song a distant late-night techno feel. While no longer ideal for werewolves, the folks at Sprockets will be stoked.

The digital Heads Will Roll Remix EP is out 7/14 via iTunes, etc.

I think "Soft Shock" is better suited for a Passion Pit remix. I do enjoy this.

that, for some reason, was remarkably frustrating to listen to.

That seemed like generic techno music with vocal samples.... not progressive electronic music.
Why Passion Pit... WHY?!

It seems Passion Pit is furthering their descent into mediocrity.

I would assume that the drummer of Passion Pit (Nate or his DJ name Shuttle) actually did this. It sounds exactly like his style. He does those kind of house type remixes. He is actually really good and great live.

Mediocre, faceless and inconsequential like 95% of all remixes.

It doesn't seem to make much sense to do a techno remix of a song that is already techno-ish. it was building alright when the vocals first came in, and it seemed like it was going somewhere... and it was at that point that I realized that I was wanting it to go into the chorus of the actual YYYs song. and then i asked myself why i was listening to this instead. bleh.

I love passion pit but, this screams of DJ Tiesto. Compliments my glow sticks very well, which undoubtedly will see heavy use after this track (joking, just joking).

So far no one as remixed any of the new YYYs songs that well. Animal Collective doing "Zero" = Eck!
