Pavement Headline Sasquatch! 2010 Or, as The Portland Mercury puts it, "Finally, a Pavement show not in New York or overseas." The reunited indie crew is the only act announced for the 5/29-5/31 Gorge fest, but more details are coming soon.

This is Pavement's only west coast date so far. Correct? How can they be festival whores?

Maybe because they're playing Coachella before they headline Sasquatch. They'll also be headlining the Pitchfork Festival, then its onto ATP New York. That leaves out Bonnaroo, APW and Lollapalooza (or at least for now) but still covers a majority of them. Pavement = festival whores, and whose to blame them.... That's where bands make a killing to play!

Oh, and lets not forget they've already booked a headlining gig at the Primavera Festival in Barcelona. I'm sure Glastonbury or Reading/Leeds will be in there, maybe an ATP n the UK, too. If you think Pavement is going to sparse on the tour dates altogether and ignore the West Coast and that this being a huge deal for that side of the country, you clearly don't understand how money making reunions work.

yeah, but it's still a nice surprise that they're playing sasquatch, which never really gets the summer's "massive draw" acts. radiohead, pixies reunion, rage against the machine reunion, daft punk - all have played coachella and skipped over sasquatch in recent years. so, this particular news is pretty rad for people who live in the northwest and want to see pavement next summer (i.e., me).

This is interesting... should be good perhaps. Also funny that, the smashing pumpkins, Stone temple pilots, and pavement all eventually reunited. Nature kids, they don't serve no function i can't understand what they mean but I could really give a fuck.

You know what feels good?

Watching my friends pay 200 bucks for central park tickets when I told them they'd come to Washington first.

OH IT FEELS GOOD!
