Phish Confirm Reunion Tour Trey, Mike, Page, and Fish are officially reuniting, kicking off with three nights (March 6-8, 2009) in Hampton, Virginia aka the site of 1999's Hampton Comes Alive. More '09 dates promised and TBA, meanwhile some Hampton tix are available for a week starting now, the rest go on sale 10/18 via Ticketbastard. (via Whitney)

it's weird, i'm actually more excited for this new band, the strange design, that is recreating historical phish shows (a la dark star orchestra) and just announced a fall tour. they've been playing the shit out of 1991!

something about recapturing the vibe + energy of early 90's phish in a tiny bar with bad acoustics and even worse beer sounds so much better than spun out kiddies and trance-y froth. would they ever consider doing something to get back to basics? a club tour? thrash metal min-sets? big ball jams?

for halloween i'm thinking primal scream's xtrmntr (kicking off with "kill all hippies")...

I knew the breakup wouldn't take.
My days of trucking hundreds of miles for them are over. If I was 19 I would go to a midMarch Hampton show at the drop of a hat. But since I'm super old now, I'll have to wait for a northeastern show. I'll go to that
