A few days after doing Siren (or perhaps better introduced as "the same day she was snubbed for a Mercury Prize nomination"), Mika Levy and her Shapes stopped into the Echo in Los Angeles with a set of the clattering oddball art-pop off her Jewellery LP along with one new tune titled "Long Time." Opening the night was BTW Merrill Garbus aka tUnE-yArDs, whose excellent BiRd-BrAiNs LP will see release via 4AD this August, and fellow ukulele songwriter Rachel Goodrich. Photographer Andrew Youssef was on hand and delivers these shots.
