The Dead Weather @ Bowery Ballroom, NYC 4/14/09

You couldn't be surprised when the Dead Weather's roadies came out in uniform dress code (suits and bowler hats) last night: This was a Jack White show after all. Although according to those who secured access to last night's NYC debut of supergroup the Dead Weather, the focus was primarily on the Kills vixen Alison Mossheart, and ultimately how closely she and Jack sang into their shared mic. According to Ms. Modern Age, "the dynamic of the Dead Weather is hinged upon Mosshart's role as the ferocious, fearless leader and the rest of the band acting as her dutiful, capable soldiers." Jack spent most of the night singing from behind his drum kit, although he was on guitar before the show's close. The new outfit, rounded out by Raconteur Jack Lawrence on bass and Queens Of The Stone Age's Dean Fertita's on guitar, played one hour and two encores in promotion of their forthcoming debut record. We sent photographer Natasha Ryan to bring back pics of them and openers Crystal Stilts, and others helped out with video:

So did anyone actually pay the exorbitant CL ticket prices?

Why did they not invite their very good pal Noah Lennox?

On the second photo it certainly looks like they're copulating. Excuse me for liking this more than the Kills.
