The xx Toured With, Remixed Florence & The Machine

So Florence Welch's crowd at Shepherds Bush Empire last night weren't exactly hospitable to ascendant, moody minimalists the xx. (One punter yelled "enough!," and that dude should still be getting booed.) But even if they don't share fans, Welch and the xx share a certain rapport memorialized here by the xx's remix of "You've Got The Love," Florence's Source And Candi Staton cover that appears on her Mercury nominated Lungs LP. On it her harp gets snipped and spun out a bit, surrounded by the xx's vocals, keyboard/computer weirdness, and dubstep outro. And The Machine and the xx have one more show together tonight at Shepherds Bush before the xx embark on a much deserved tour of their own for fans with functioning ears. Florence is clearly a superstar and the XX are clearly going to release 3 amazing albums and end up with a fairly sizable cult following but not much in the way of mainstream success, this combo is amazing and is now featured on my blog!
