Thom Yorke @ Orpheum, Los Angeles 10/5/09

And now Los Angeles can go back to paying attention to the real life. The weekend that saw Thom Yorke bare-chested and well-lit wrapped up last night at the Orpheum. The setlist was the same as the previous night's show in the same room; photographer Andrew Youssef was the envy of everybody by making it to all three shows, saying last night's had the best crowd and saw the band at it's tightest. Just in time for none of the rest of us to see them in action, sadly, although Yorke did tease the room by saying he'd be back next year. With which bassist, and what songs, is anyone's guess. But that's some good news for people willing to sit tight for 12 months on the promise of a concert. (Year-long waits are the new style.) Take a pass through Andrew's photos and last night's setlist, and if you didn't hear the band in person or on your laptop yet, these clips are worth a look.

01 "The Eraser"
02 "Analyze"
03 "The Clock
04 "Black Swan"
05 "Skip Divided"
06 "Atoms For Peace"
07 "And It Rained All Night"
08 "Harrowdown Hill"
09 "Cymbal Rush"

11 "Skirting On The Surface"
12 "Supercollider"

13 "Paperbag Writer"
13 "Judge, Jury, & Executioner"
15 "The Hollow Earth"
16 "Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses"

Everyone cares! Thank you for all pics. Those shows ROCKED BEYOND ANY COMPREHENSION! I thought Yorke could'nt surprise me anymore, but the little ginge once more proved that the hype about him is deserved. That's nice they will be back doing shows next year, everyone needs to get a chance to witness that magic in person.

the best live music show of my life (and that counts tool and radiohead). this show really blew my mind, they were so ridiculously tight for having only played together a few weeks. this is the new standard for music.

This was a pretty incredible show. Flea and Thom are two of the most spastic mofos I've ever seen - they definitely work well together. The entire band was tight as hell considering they apparently have only been playing together for 3 weeks

and if you live in LA and haven't been to the Orpheum...wow. Amazing venue

Minor correction: Thom played "Skirting the Surface" on Monday and "Open the Floodgates" on Sunday - the rest was the same.

Absolutely incredible shows at The Orpheum - the latest rendition of "Super collider" was the absolute highlight for me. The acoustics rendered his voice otherworldly and he has completely perfected that melody since debuting it last year.

you don't care because you're not a fan so shut your stupid face up and pay attention to some other article. There is a scroll function for a reason. And you have fingers to your mouse scroll for a reason. Skip this and move on instead of taking the time and effort in leaving stupid ass comments.

And on the last day, Thom rested. Praise be to Thom.

EXCELLENT Andrew!!! I saw you at Broadway beforehand. The deep-colored ones of Flea and number 29 are beautiful. And thank you for getting pics of the entire band. The Orpheum shows were brilliant. See you at next gig!

"Super Collider" is already in the upper echelon of Thom Yorke works. It is perfect, and one of the most beautiful songs that little ginge has ever written, easily. One of my all-time favourites.

This show was amazing. Openers Lucky Dragons were wonderfully weird and set the perfect mood for the King of Twitchy Dancing. The set was impeccably tight and the songs sounded more organic but still retained the detachment. Amazing show. Aside from that Ellen Page and Maeby from "Arrested Development" were in the row in front of me. Jonah Hill and Edward Norton were seen too.
