Pretty Girls Make Graves Break Up

Sad news for fans of the best Seattle punk outfit to be named after a Smiths song (or for a line from Kerouac's The Dharma Bums -- either way, cool). Posted on their site today:

We are sorry to announce that our upcoming tour in May will be our last. Nick quit the band and the rest of us feel like it wouldn’t be right to continue on without him. The 5 of us feel very lucky to have met and worked with some truly amazing people over the years. Thank you all so much….
Feel free to pour one out for 'em. R.I.P. PGMG.

Damn they were pretty good, at least I got to see them once before they broke up.

Major bummer - I am a huuuuuge fan of them and all the related bands. I actually have a site dedicated to collecting their vinyl - lots of info and pics - http://www.murdercityvinyl.com

Yeah I caught those reunion shows, they were amazing. There is a great recording of the Showbox show in FLAC format here: http://iamserio.us/2006/07/31/the-murder-city-devils-2006-07-30/

that sucks. I was just on their myspace page and they still have dates posted up. I was looking forward to seeing them again.

But does anyone know about Moonrats? I read that there are members of PGMG in this band. They're playing at Knitting Factory LA on feb 22. I'm curious....
