Psychedelic Furs, Prepare To Get KoRny

Good news for people who like bad news. Recently, the National set their baritonic sights on a vintage Psychedelic Furs gem, and now KoRn are gonna bludgeon another. And that's in addition to a full-album slate of run-for-covers. Via Billboard:

"We've already done, like, 'Love My Way' from Psychedelic Furs," said Korn frontman Jonathan Davis. "We've done 'We Care a Lot' from Faith No More [and Nine Inch Nails'] 'Head Like a Hole.' Those are already recorded. We just gotta get in and do some more."

Davis said that he, guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer and bassist Reggie "Fieldy" Avizu "keep writing down covers" they'd like to record. Davis' current wish list includes Prince's "Erotic City," Ozzy Osbourne's "Diary of a Madman" and Debbie Deb's "Lookout Weekend" as done by Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam.

C'mon guys, before you freak on a leash ... how bad could it be?

Oh yeah. Nevermind.

Leave "Erotic City" alone dammit!!! It can not be improved upon. Plus, it's never been decided if Prince is saying "funk" or "fu*k" in the chorus, so you can never be sure if you're doing it correctly. And let's not forget the fact that you are Korn and you suck. This will hinder any attempt at successfully covering Prince (or anything else).

The GC applies to prisoners of war; these guys are regular inmates. Other international human rights standards would apply instead.

why didn't the jurnalists edit the "like"?! he sounds like a fucking 12 year old. i know he maybe didn't say it like that, but when i read a quote that includes a gratuitous "like", i freak out.
and korn: who really cares.

The people at Billboard will be pleased to know they're journalists now.

My guess is altering quotes is slightly less-than-journalistic behavior, at least at an ethical level.

If Korn is going to do a Prince cover song, Rickey Henderson thinks that they should do "Sign o' the Times" or "Batdance".

Band To Watch: Threatmantics

Threatmantics are a scruffy Welsh rock trio that throw some wrinkles into the scruffy rock formula: Instead of a lead guitarist, they have a lead John Cale viola, and their drummer does double-time with a keyboard. The two guys mixing...
