Radiohead In Philadelphia

And the results are in! Radiohead are still relevant. The band rocked Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, PA last night and while Pitchfork's Stephen M. Deusner was -- no surprises -- not blown away ("As tight as the band was, its performance occasionally seemed a little contained..."), he can't deny it's great to have 'em back. I'm so psyched to see them at Bonnaroo. Check out last night's setlist:

You And Whose Army
The National Anthem
2+2=5
Open Pick
15 Step
Exit Music
Kid A
Nude
Arpeggi
Street Spirit (Fade Out)
Pyramid Song
Myxomatosis
House of Cards
Spooks
Idioteque
Bangers and Mash
There There

Encore #1
Airbag
No Surprises
Bodysnatchers
Everything in Its Right Place

Encore #2
4 Minute Warning
Karma Police

Sadly Stereogum was shut out of MSG. Who's got tickets to see 'em this month? Did anyone overpay on eBay?

i saw radiohead play the london forum to 2500 people when' the bends' was in its second week of being released, it was an amazing gig, one of my best of all time.

also, it was the first time i brought my girlfriend to orgasm (her first, ever) even before the support band came on ( i forget who they were )

can any beautiful stereogum reader top this? i bet there's some stories out there. radiohead ain't all doom and gloom. .......

I overpayed on ebay, 200 bucks a ticket. I've never seen Radiohead and I'm pretty sure that when they break up we will have no heads up. I need to see them.

You sound fairly confident that they are going to break up...

i have nothing bad to say about radiohead, apart from feeling annoyed that they dis-owned the 'pop is dead' EP. at that point i was such a huge fan that i got dead annoyed when radiohead slaggged it. i hate it when bands diss the back catalogue that us kids bought that put them (the band) in the fuckin position to make another fuckin record....
i have to go. moz is rockin out BBC2......

Two for Toronto.

Radiohead will never be not relevant, Scott.

I agree with I'm Right.
I am seeing them at Bonnaroo and I'm completely trembling in anticipation. And I've seen them 4 times! How often does that happen?
So many great acts at that festival, and yet the 3 hour set from Radiohead is worth the price of admission alone. They're the only band that meant the same to me at age 13 that they do to me now at age 24.

"i have nothing bad to say about radiohead, apart from feeling annoyed that they dis-owned the 'pop is dead' EP. at that point i was such a huge fan that i got dead annoyed when radiohead slaggged it."

The title track is terrible. Surely "Creep" and "Street Spirit" by themselves did way, way more for their career than that particular EP/single/whatever.

I managed to get presale tickets to both Chicago nights. 4th row + 9th row = love.

4 tix for both nights at MSG plus Bonnaroo. I've seen Radiohead a billion times - they never stop being exciting.

Although I still think Amnesiac is a weak album.

I'm seeing them for the 14th time in a row. I have 7 tickets. Way more tickets than any of you. I like them more than any of you as well.

I used to live down the street from thom York. He is my godfather actually. In fact my whole self image is predicated upon which row I am sitting in and how many cd's I own. I am a yuppie doosh. I have systimatically dismantled all rebellion from rock n' roll and now I wear my ticket stubs around my neck whenever I go too partys in Wiilamsburg. Wamp, wamp, wamp.

Well... I saw them both nights in the same seat (7th row) gotten from ticketmaster this past tuesday. :) The first night was good, but left me thinking they were tired, had too many technical problems and were going to break up. Fortunately, the second night they were on point, rocked and left me sure they'll keep on going for a while. I have pit tickets (thanks waste) for the 14th and am probably going to try to swap one for the same on the 13th. Now, to find a hotel room.
