How was "How to Disappear Completely" as a closer? Seems a bit mellow to end a show unless they changed it up a little bit...

I've got bootlegs where they use HTDC to close. It works fine. Not as well as some other songs, but it works. You end up with kind of the same transcendentally sad closing you get as when they close with Motion Picture Soundtrack. HTDC gets the jamming-out-the-end thing going pretty decently.

Hitting both nights in Chicago via WASTE tickets. Excited? Yeah. I totally am.

Ending the show with "How To Disappear Completely" might not seem like a great way to end a show, but then again, on the surface, Radiohead doesn't seem like a band who can attract such a wide and devoted audience. Somehow they made ending with that song the most sublime and perfect thing ever. What a show. What a band.

Well I saw Cat Power on Letterman, then Be Your Own Pet on Conan last night. Judging by the set list/ picture, this radiohead guy seems pretty important.

My ticket says 8 for tonight, which it also said for last night. I went in last nightat 8:30 and the Black Keys were playing their last song so it might have started earlier. Radiohead went on around 9:15, I think.

The Black Keys opened, going on around 8:00 and playing just under half an hour. I'd recommend seeing their set, it was pretty kickass even if it's a totally different kind of music. RH came on at 9:10 I believe.

But HOLY FUCK! HTDC was so effing good. I concur it might not be the best closer, but it was amazing and they did an epic extension of noise at the end after they'd all left, keeping the house lights off for a while, and no one wanted to leave.

holy fucking shit. am i the only person who didn't think this show was good?
first of all, the sound was WAY off. i could barely hear johnny's guitar through most of the performance. if you sat in the 300's, you weren't able to hear ANYTHING. my friend were chatting away as if we were sitting in coffee shop.
and the setlist?... c'mon. 5 songs from the bends/ok computer combined? they pulled out no stops, nothing was impressive.
this was the 5th time i've seen radiohead, and was by FAR the worst.
i likened the experience to getting rejected by a fat chick.

Not sure if I agree with bob, I think GA is the way to go. The sound was fine and the boys looked like they had a great time. I've seen them 5 times as well and I thought they played on par, not the best i've seen them not the worst. Its also silly to expect more songs from bends/ok computer as for the past few years the majority of the stuff they play is from their latest albums. For me I enjoyed that they played 6 new songs but I feel like most people didn't enjoy them as much, not like they were bad but its hard to really get into a song the first time you hear it.I thought Bodysnatchers was amazing btw. It helped that I had heard it a few times, but I lost it during that song which was wierd because I was the only one.

I thought the sound was good! Of course I couldn't see anything 'cause even though I had a good seat, I'm pretty short and there was a tall dude in front of me. As for my shitty photo posted, it took like 50 attempts fucking with the settings to get something decent. I really don't have a good camera. I want to buy a digital SLR, which I'm sure some of you can advise on.

"Silent Night" was just a little vocal intro by Thom, and the audience laughed.

And ... just being totally honest here ... I would've liked more OK Computer. "Climbing Up The Walls" gave me chills. But a great show, obviously ... It's fucking Radiohead!

They played "Down is the new Up" on Sat. in Montreal and it was awesome. That is my favorite of the new songs. "Climbing Up Walls" also gave me the chills that night.

Oh God. Playing "Creep" would be like asking you to wear the shirt you wore on picture day in third grade: cute and a nice photo for the mantle but it really doesn't fit anymore. Grow up.

Agreed LP. I think we are over the playing "Creep" now. Amazing song but more for the people who know that one tune and maybe "High and Dry".

I thought it was an amazing show. I was sitting in the 200's and the sound was great. They're doing this tour mostly to try out the new stuff, and it certainly does work. I can't wait for the album.

Night #2 at the Garden was great, I got some pix here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fwyb/sets/72157594166747592/

I liked "Down is the New Up" best of the new bunch.

Anyoine found a bootleg yet?

I agree with bob. Certainly my least exciting Radiohead experience. It was, however, without pretense, exactly what it was meant to be. It was an exciting showcase to present and experiment with new material in front of a quite faithful audience. I'm thankful I could partake, but it didn't quite move my core. It definitely wasn't loud enough from the 200's.
