Radiohead's Having A Party In Ten Minutes

There's been a lot of Radiohead news of late -- In Rainbows is getting a physical release in the UK on 12/31 via XL, the first single across the pond will be "Jigsaw Falling Into Place" on 1/14, EMI's releasing a boxset featuring all of the band's pre-In Rainbows material on CD and limited edition USB stick (WAV files) all without the band's blessing, etc. -- but since most of you already have all of that music and have been reviewing it for weeks, we thought this might be more up your virtual alley. Via radiohead.com/deadairspace:

helo
there will be something on the box tonight
its another test
but right now we are entangled in cables
however
weather permitting
our technical experts will resolve the entanglement
itll be broadcast as a quicktime h.264 stream
if youve got a mac you could read it with quicktime player
if youve got a pc you might need to download the installer (click here to download and install)

then
www2.radiohead.tv

try it about 10 pm gmt

Stanley

That's 5PM EST if you're playing along at home. The telecast that's been talked about of late? Guess so, though it's a day early. Anyway, get ready to log on. By the looks of this clip uploaded to ateaseweb's YouTube account, you may need your dancing shoes.

how can this all be done without their permission when part of the whole reason for the internet release was that they didn't have a contract anymore and thought this was a better way to do it? did they sign a new contract in between now and then knowing they were going to release the album online and already get screwed by that company releasing it themselves? doesn't seem likely...I confused...

I'm entangled in a giant quicktime logo and a scrolling bar instead of watching radiohead shred in the studio. BUST!

This whole "telecast" should just be of a video with only one scene that displays a sign that, in huge letters, reads "You Are Fags" with an accompanying mini-text ("even bigger fags than those Guitar Hero players").

I would laugh so fucking hard.

Be patient and watch through the entire Thom Yorke dj set. After maybe 5 minutes or so it then goes to a performance in a studio.

The DJ session looks a little like interference fringes in a laser optics experiment. Both the thick ones and the thin ones. And you could forgive them for wanting to use the word entanglement too.

I have to wonder... don't the other guys want to be spinning discs in front of the camera too? Why (besides the public's demand) is there always a "lead" in a band? Are all successful bands made up of one extrovert and several talented introverts?

Get a band, NE1...

BTW, has someone the downloaded the original quicktime file ? I'd like to have it in a better quality that YouTube, and on my computer, hate streaming...
