Radiohead's North American Tour

I tried Friday morning at 9:56 ... 9:57 ... 9:58 ... and eventually gave up around 10:01 when Theater @ MSG sold out.

Disappointing. But I think I might have written a Radiohead song with Ticketmaster's anti-robot word generator!

The non-NY shows went on sale this morning. How did everyone make out with Ticketmaster?

UPDATE: Lo-fi Koko MP3s of "Arpeggi," "Bodysnatchers," and "Cymbal Rush" are making the rounds. If you find decent quality let us know!

I have front row balcony one tickets for the chicago show, only 100 bucks which is great seeing as they're already going for over $500 on craigslist

I scored two tickets to the boston show. I tried at 9:59,10:00, and 10:01 was told there was no tickets left, but at 10:02 when I tried I found two. Kind of odd, I think the ticketmaster system is a bit slow to respond to the time, and can give you a no tickets found response, when there systems aren't fully open. I use multiple tabs in firefox, and i find that works pretty well for most shows.

You might want to be careful using tabs to buy tickets. I'd assume it worked out for you because you were only able to secure one set in any of your tabs. I tried to buy tickets to a baseball playoff game last year through ticketmaster, and decided to spring for some nice tickets. As a backup, in case the nicer ones sold out first, I tried to grab some cheap seats in another tab. Ticketmaster checks for this sort of thing, I guess, and wouldn't let me purchase either set of tickets I had lined up. It was an amazing game, too. Wish I could've been there.

how is it that tickets for these shows were on ebay before ticketmaster even began selling them? ticketmaster must set aside a certain amount to sell directly to ticket brokers.

I got tickets to both nights in Chicago via the W.A.S.T.E. presale earlier this week. Hooray for being up late/early studying for finals.

The setlist for the first show in Europe is out. Here's the NME story about the show.

Some combo. of new songs will be there every night. I'm curious to see what old songs get kicked up. This was the first time they've played Let Down in almost ten years.

"it's just frickin impossible to sell out that fast with a 2 ticket limit"

Really? Last time they played in America, they were selling out 30,000-40,000 person venues (Alpine Valley, where they played in 2003 for a sorta-Chicago stop on the HTTT tour, holds 40k people).

This time around they're playing venues roughly 1/10th the size. Hence the multiple nights, and the ludicrosity (don't look at me, I get that word from The Daily Show) involved in getting tickets.

The Pixies took about ten minutes to sell out their first night at the Aragon back in 2004. Surely radiohead (a much more well-known band) selling out a venue smaller than the Aragon in less time is not that impossible.

Somehow I scored one ticket for Tuesday's Chicago show. Ticketmaster originally said my wait time was 13 minutes while it checked for tickets; 10 minutes later it returned with row T. I thought selecting 2 tickets would for sure return no results.

They don't sell out in 30 seconds, it's just their system sucks. I got a ticket for Boston (and a good one) about 8 minutes after I first tried. I was using both IE and firefox separately in case one started to freeze me out for refreshing too much.

Ticketmaster is fucking bullshit either way.

"Subject: Re: Don't miss Radiohead

I hate you Ticketmaster. You make me type the dumb fake "squigbodle" word 8 times and say I have too many browsers open when I only have two, one for each date of the concert. You suck. You have ruined the concert going industry. All I wanted to do was see Radiohead. I got up on time. I got my ticket place and your dumb word thing wouldn't work. THANKS A LOT.

Got a ticket in the balcony for Tuesday night in Chicago. Was at Tower records in line for a wristband and for the lottery ended up being second in line! score.

Also made some girls day who was stuck in the back almost in tear thanks to the lottery system by buying her a ticket. There is my good deed for the day...

We're relatively close together, but the Boston venue is pretty lenient about letting you move around.

I scored 4 tickets for both MSG shows at 6 am via WASTE; there's no other way to get tickets. A buddy of mine scored 1 GA ticket via ticketmaster. I don't know how - I tried to get tickets for another friend on Friday morning via ticketmaster and was immediately shut out. I don't think it's rigged - just tremendous demand for a limited supply. Ticketmaster.com crashed in 2000 for their Roseland show too.

Oh and before anyone screams "scalper", I'm not. All my tickets are spoken for - me, my g/f and 2 friends. I remember sleeping on the street for the $2 bill show and seeing the scalper slime in the front of the line. That will always bother me.

I was, no, actually I still am infuriated with my Ticketmaster experience. I tried to get tickets just as they went on sale...and I mean just as they went on sale. I was refreshing the page every second, and still didn't get any tickets. There has to be something fishy with that.

My wait time started at 9 minutes.
Then it went down to 5 mintues.
Then it went back up to 9 minutes.
Then it went up to 13 minutes.
Then it went down to 5.
Back up to 9.
Down to 3.

And then it said there were no tickets available.

You wanna kill broker's and scalpers? DON'T BUY THE FUCKING TICKETS FROM THEM!!!!!! Everyone bitches about them, everyone. But you can't get tickets for whatever, and you cave, bend over, and take it up the ass, giving these clowns the extra cash to keep buying up MORE tickets. And don't think you can save yourself with a fan club membership, b/c there are ticket broker-only websites with daily updates of all the fan club, radio station, and other relevant passwords and when those pre-sales go onsale. (Remember the U2 chaos last year?) Hell, most of them join the fucking fan clubs, just for the ticket presales, and it works! What's a 30 dollar membership when you're gonna get away with charging at least double the face value? It's nothing. Literally the only way to get rid of them is for everyone to just stop buying their fucking tickets. But, people are weak, and would rather bitch about it but still buy from them JUST THIS ONE TIME! Ticket scalpers and ticket broker companies are more often than not very small operations with the same budgetary concerns that the rest of us have. You wanna give them cancer? Resist the urge to give them more money to keep doing it.

Ticketmaster website is a joke. I refresh the screen (pretty consistently from 9:57 to 10:00) and finally see the link for "get tickets" at 10:01 (per my computer clock). The page I reach does not have a drop down box for # of tickets, it's an incomplete page probably due to too much traffic on the TM site (the rest of page loads completely). So an incomplete page keeps me from having a shot at Boston tix. I gave up after seeing no tickets left for either Boston date, which I guess was stupid, since it looks like people got tickets even after this point. Thanks, Ticketmaster.

GODAMMIT, I HATE THIS MUSIC BUSINESS!!!

There I was, from 9:30 to 10:00, with my finger poised on the refresh button for both dates. At exactly 10:00:00 I refreshed and tried to get tickets. After 3 minutes in line, turned into 10 minutes...I didn't get tickets.

How is that humanely possible?

And now, less than a half hour later, you can buy them everyone on the internet for a 500% markup.

If I were Radiohead, I would never tour. It's such bullshit that this is how it works. I will not pay $400 to see a band!

ARGH!!!!

OK, thanks for letting me rant...I feel better.
