Another Indie Rock XMas Mix

Jonathan Schmitt put together this fine mix of holiday tunes...

Angels We Have Heard On High - Sufjan Stevens
Winter Wonderland - Phantom Planet
Yule Shoot Your Eye Out - Fall Out Boy
Jingle Bells - Barenaked Ladies
Last Christmas - Jimmy Eat World
All I Want For Christmas Is You - My Chemical Romance
Christmas (Baby. Please Come Home) - Death Cab for Cutie
Come On! Let's Boogey to the Elf Dance! - Sufjan Stevens
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer - Jack Johnson
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Coldplay
The Christmas Song - the Raveonettes
Christmastime - Smashing Pumpkins
When I Get Home For Christmas - Snow Patrol
Christmas Party - the Walkmen
Jinglebell Rock - the Arcade Fire
That Was the Worst Christmas Ever! - Sufjan Stevens
Happy Christmas (War Is Over) - John Ondrasik
The New Year - Death Cab for Cutie
Download the MP3s at his site The Test Pilot.

Ironic that MCR cover "All I Want For Christmas Is You" 'cause all I don't want for XMas are their new action figures.

Oh no - I ain't falling for another indie Christmas mix. I already have half of those songs, and frankly, they all suck. There's just something about "indie" music and Christamas which does not mix well. I think it's because faux-irony/detachment is not compatible with X-Mas. But that's just a guess.

What is certain is that indie Christmas songs suck - ESPECIALLY Jimmy Eat World Christmas songs.

That's a good indie XMas rock list. You could also add The Darkness' 'Chirstmas Time - Don't Let the Bells End' and Weezer's 'Christmas Song.'

My God. Those action figures! How much do they cost? I've been looking for a good novelty gift that makes my friends hate me until they realize how funny the gift was.

Every MCR fan should have upholstery tacks driven into their gums because that's the pain I feel when I hear their music.
