Rufus Wainwright Pulls His Opera From The Met Because They Refuse To Pardon His French • The piano man had begun work on his first ever opera, but he's composing it in French, and his would-be commissioners at the Met and Lincoln Center prefer their new operas in English. That's why he's looking to find it a new home -- that, and because the Met can't even fit it in 'til 2014. Quoth Rufus: "I'm an impatient pop star."
