Rufus Wainwright Spots Anderson Cooper At The Gay Gym

Last seen warming up his pipes at the Stripes show, Rufus Wainwright does some celeb spotting of his own during off-stage hours. Ruf talked to SPIN about being out and about in show biz...

“If they stay in the closet, they’re going to make a lot more money. I go to the same gym as Anderson Cooper. When I look at him lifting those five-pound weights, it makes me think, ‘He’s just trying to live his life and be all that he can be.’ But he still goes to the gayest gym in New York.”
Next time you're working out at Equinox, look for the straight-talking news anchor with the cool iPod. For what it's worth Rufus, after that you are never gonna get in Anderson's bump. And judging by his blush, neither is Kathy Griffin.

Does Rufus just derive some sort of pleasure from speculating about other people's sexual orientation? Even if it is obvious what team they play for, why does he always have to be the go-to-guy for gayness in the media? But then again, I guess someone has to deliver the homo commentary when Harvey Fierstein takes the day off.

Yawn. Can we give these people some privacy?

I mean... I can respect why someone would want to keep their professional and personal lives completely disconnected

Anderson Cooper couldn't possibly be using 5 pound weights, he's got some real nice arm muscles for a slim guy. Just watch him sometime when he's wearing one of those tight t-shirts. Very sexy.

That 'five pound weight' comment was the most objectionable part.
