Save Stereogum.com

Stereogum needs a new hosting company ASAP. I'm getting ripped off. With the recent increased traffic, I can't afford to keep this going at my current rate of 15GB bandwidth for $19.99. The spillover charges are insane. Suggestions? (I'm gonna need more than a 15GB transfer plan.)

I've only been a customer for a few days, but from what I've read, Total Choice Hosting seems to be a pretty good deal.

http://www.jaguarpc.com/index.php?loc=hosting - JaguarPC is pretty good. I have one of their lower priced plans, but they say they offer 45 gigs bandwith for $9.95 a month... only downside is 1 Gig of storage. They have another plan that is considerably more expensive ($32.00 a month), but with 5 gigs of storage and 75 gigs data transfer.

http://www.fuitadnet.com/platinum_plan.php - 175 gigs transfer/15 gigs for $35 month

I think I'm gonna switch hosts after seeing their prices.

99/mo for a whole server, unlimited domains ( you could host friends and other sites) 100gig xfer, and 60 gig storage, http://www.ev1servers.net/english/index.asp
having your own dedicated server is the way to go. they have a great web based control panel so you don't have to be a server admin genius to make things happen, then every domain has it's own control panel for little things like making subdomains, password protecting stuff, setting mail etc.

I'm with Neureal.com - EXCELLENT services, and lots of configurable options, with up to 25GB of bandwidth, an excellent control panel, and highly configurable settings.

I cannot speak higher of them. The couple of trivial questions I had for tech support also were replied to within the hour, even on a sunday.

Check them out.

try hitting up Media Temple for free hosting, they are a pretty cool company that supports music/arts ... all you'd need to do is drop their logo somewhere. i mean they host www.polaroidscene.com for chrissake..

yes - I agree a tip jar isn't cheesy especially if you don't oversell it. You've got a great site and its worth a contribution.

What a kickass list!

aplus isn't unlimited bandwidth though - unless it's listed somewhere as a special. "50 GB Transfer" isn't unlimited.

Make sure you let us know where you go! Sheesh! With deals like these, I'll probably move my site next year too.

I'm currently with c i host, and though I'm relatively pleased, I'm not thrilled.

P.S. a tip-jar button isn't cheezy at all when you've got the sort of quality content YOU have!

Would people use it? Who knows - but your site is superb.
