UK's Favourite Album Covers

More from across the Atlantic! Uncut reports on a poll that asked people from across the UK to rank their top three CD album covers, which prompted from us a single question: Scissor Sisters? (via RS):

5. Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells
4. Scissor Sisters - Scissor Sisters
3. The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
2. Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
1. The Beatles – Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
But everybody who's anybody knows that, in a death match, the Dark Side prism destroys. (And Sticky Fingers is DQ'd for stuffing!)

You DO know that the UK isn't just England, right?

And while we're being picky, Britain isn't the same as either. Nice one, you referred to 3 separate entities in the one post.

England is just that: England.

(Great) Britain is: England, Scotland and Wales

The UK (United Kingdom) is: Britain (see above) and Northern Ireland.

Sorry, pedantic rant over.

Alex, you missed Berwick :-). The correct version is, of course, "The Mighty Thug Nation Of England And Its Assorted Celtic Colonies."

Still, check this from the final paragraph:

"The result of Sgt. Pepper at number one is unanimous across age groups 35-65 and over, but for the 25-34 year olds, Dark Side of the Moon just pips Sgt. Pepper to the post as first choice."

The under 25s are presumably all "Albums have covers? WTF?"

right...well that's the first time I've felt good about having turned 25 two weeks ago. The next time might not be until I rent a car.

They didn't even choose the right Pink Floyd cover.

But not everyone loves them some Animals as much as I do.

Tubular Bells? Really? That's like saying your favorite Marx Brother is Zeppo. Interesting album, but kind of a duff covr.

Joe Dallesandro crotch shot got number three? What about the cover of The Smiths' self-titled? At least we see a bit of his face.

I've always thought of the Dark Side of the Moon cover as sort of tacky.

Apples In Stereo Energize Pepsi Rebranding

As we've mentioned in the past (2007), Robert Schneider's not afraid of the graceful sellout. So, no, we're not surprised that he and his E6 cohorts just scored a Pepsi commercial. (Heck, we already knew how much E6-related bands loved...
