Good News For People Who Like The OC Mixes

Just when you thought it was okay to ignore them, The OC music department brainstormed a fab idea: Indie covering Indie! Here's the promising tracklisting:

Goldspot - "Float On" – Modest Mouse
Rock Kills Kid - "I Turn My Camera On" - Spoon
Lady Sovereign - "Pretty Vacant" – The Sex Pistols
Mates of State - "California" – Phantom Planet
Pinback - "Wasted" – Black Flag
John Paul White - "Can't Get It Out Of My Head" - ELO
Rogue Wave - "Debaser" – The Pixies
Syd Matters - "Hello Sunshine" – Super Furry Animals
Tally Hall - "Smile Like You Mean It" – The Killers
The M's - "Come Into Our Room" - Clinic
Band Of Horses - "The End's Not Near" – The New Year
Chris Holmes - "Into Dust" – Mazzy Star
The cleverly-titled The O.C. Mix 6: Covering Our Tracks is out 12/5. And we know you're so over the show, so you probably won't want to see the upcoming-season's trailers. Thought so.

as annoying as that song ["california"] is, i'd be interested to hear what mates of state do with it.

I've yet to hear a good Clinic cover, but I'm interested to hear how this sounds. At least they're attempting a song with lyrics that are understandable.

I'm super excited for the Band of Horses covering the New Year. Tremendously underrated band. Still managing to make great records despite being relatively un-influential.

Well, as much as I hate the OC (always have, for the record. I find it dull, it's not all just pretention, haha), I'm vaugely intrigued.

The Rogue Wave, Band of Horses and M's tracks all seem intriguing to me. The rest I could give or take. Give mostly.

i'd like to call your attention to the tally hall cover of smile like you mean it. tally hall is an amazing band with incredible talent for harmony and they certainly show that off in this cover.
