Slayer Set To Show No Mercy On Kimmel

It's taken 25 years, but the shy guys of Slayer are finally ready to take on television. They'll do Jimmy Kimmel's late night show, perfect for maximum nightmare potential. Via Blabbermouth:

According to a press release from mPRm Public Relations, tickets for SLAYER's January 19 appearance on ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" sold out in about four hours, matching the performance of such superstar acts as JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, KORN and LINKIN PARK.

SLAYER will make its first-ever network television appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" The band will play two songs on air, "Jihad" and "Mandatory Suicide", as well as three additional off-air tracks for a crowd of over 1,000 people.

The show will most definitely not air in India. Do any Stereogum readers still listen to Slayer? (Like you didn't have Seasons In The Abyss; everyone goes through a satanic death metal phase!) And you're in luck, hipster metal fans -- Mastodon is opening for Slayer on tour. Good family fun! Bring the kids.

Of course. Got the entire discography on the iPOD. Shuffle makes me listen to them about every 6th song. And I never skip.

Slayer kick ass. Whenever I'm in the gym, I'm listening to RIB or South of Heaven. Slayer is definitely cheese I'm proud to listen to. Props for mentioning them on the 'Gum.

Slayer's incredible. I don't know where I would be in my life if I didn't listen to Slayer. Network television isn't ready for slayer.

I can't get through a jam session at my high school without hearing 'Reign in Blood' at least twenty times, no joke. Everyone seems to be an expert at the two-riff intro. Duh-nuh-nuh-nuh Duh-NUH-nuh!

Every Slayer song sounds exactly the same. And most 80s thrash metal sounds kinda tame at this point, no?

I don't even know much about Slayer, but I wanted to check this out. I forgot to check the date, though. Does Kimmel ever run repeats?
