Soundtrack To Your Lost Premiere Party

Got friends coming over for tonight's nerd Superbowl? Before you sit in silence, eyes glued to ABC, check out Neatorama's party ideas. Our favorites:
1. Refreshments: Airplane-sized bottles of liquor and mini packets of peanuts.
2. Decor: Luggage scattered all over the living room.

As for your pre-game playlist, save for DriveSHAFT your best bets are:

  • Cass Elliot - "Make Your Own Kind Of Music" (iTunes)
  • Patsy Cline - "Walking After Midnight" (iTunes)
  • Petula Clark - "Downtown" (iTunes)
  • Three Dog Night - "Shambala" (iTunes)
  • Nirvana - "Scentless Apprentice" (iTunes)
Other recommended pre-show research includes this list of 5 Questions the Lost Writers Need to Answer (And Why They Won't).

As for what you missed since May's season flash-forward, there were some Verizon mobisodes that are part of the official Lost canon. The latest one gave us a headache.

Our favorite dumb theory: time on the island moves in reverse. That explains Richard...

But not Walt, eh?

OK, almost game time. Let us know what you think.

I'm excited. Just wary since its only going to be 8 episodes. Damned writers. Anyway, I think Charlie comes back.

I'm bummed they killed Tom at the end of season 3, he was my favorite "other"

I hear Richard won't be on LOST anymore.

Oh, and Ethan Rom is Tom Cruise's first cousin.

This was a brilliant episode. Things are getting very, very creep in the best possible ways. The man who visited Hurley in the mental hospital came across as downright sinister, but this episode had it all, the cabin, Jacob? Christian Shepherd? Jack's new twisted rage...I am so glad this show is back.

Great, more questions without any hint of closure to the already lengthy list of previously unanswered island mysteries.

Glorified Eli Stone commercial.

What happened in that Oceanic ad? I thought it was a blant attempt to have people stick around for Eli Stone. Like in wednesday's recap and the "special preview" in Jimmy Kimmel live... what a freakin' bust! *eye roller*

Anyways, am I the only one who thinks they are getting way too much over their head with these flash forwards?

The Oceanic 6's missing three: one of them is definitely Sawyer or Locke, in the coffin at last year's final episode. I'll keep watching with my fingers crossed for a writer's deal before the new episodes are over!

"Great, more questions without any hint of closure to the already lengthy list of previously unanswered island mysteries."

This is kind of the point with LOST... I don't see where the complaint is coming from. "More questions" has been the name of the game since day one -- if they start rattling off answers and solving mysteries, the show loses what makes it so captivating. How do people still talk like they think the writers don't know what they're doing? They have put a cap on how many episodes they are making. If they answered every question in every episode, what separates it from any other show like 24? Well, besides the acting, writing, direction, etc...

The writers do what they are doing: dragging out cliffhangers that can be summed up with some grand solution at the end in order to fill advertisement time. Acting and production carry Lost, not the writing.

sayid, jin, and sun get off the island. i know this because two episodes in the upcoming 7 are sayid centric and sun centric. both are flash forwards. it would seem correct to guess that means they are off the island, right?
i love "they need us"... that they did something to leave EVERYONE else on the island. that's... scary.

The writers most certainly have a feeble, feeble mind. They just throw some "mysteries" together and see what sticks, and what they can drag for episodes and episodes to come.

Sometimes they lack consistency, most of the time. The show it's not that well though out, not sci-fi show really is. They may have an idea of course but they dance around it.

Don't take me wrong, I like the show but sometimes it makes my eyes roll deep into my skull. Example: the freaking "monster". I wish they'd tied stuff together before adding more mysteries.

Most of the questions this season will be answered once we catch up to the flash-forwards, which could be soon.

i agree totally with christian, if they answer absolutely everything, there's no mystery left and if they don't keep adding more mysterious stuff it would get boring really fast. the writers on this show are very good (take the season 3 finale for example). hopefully they'll be back to work soon.

It's not jack or sawyer in the coffin. Remember the newspaper clip in the season three finale? The one jack clutches while angsting out to some nirvana on his way in to the viewing. You can find zoomed in still shots of that newspaper clipping and the name is not of a character yet introduced.
