Spectacle: Elvis Costello With... Schedule Released

thubmnail icon: Spectacle: Elvis Costello With... Schedule Released

We first told you about the new Sundance television series Spectacle: Elvis Costello With.... in August when one of our readers made it to a taping with the Police and Smokey Robinson (though he only saw the latter). Then, just last week, Amrit and Scott ventured to the Spectacle wrap, where Costello was joined by Late Night companion Jenny Lewis. As you might guess by the very nature of a wrap party, the series has finished taping, launching soon (12/3). We have the complete 13-week schedule.

But first, a bit of a description:

Spectacle features everything from intimate one-on-one conversations with legendary performers and notable newcomers to thematic panel discussions. Guest artists not only talk but perform -- demonstrating the development and creation of their music and playing new, stripped-down or solo versions of some of their best and most loved songs. Costello also performs, starting each episode with an original, never before seen (or heard) interpretation of a song by the featured guest, or a song connected to them. And on top of all that are extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime collaborations and pairings.

The Season 1 schedule:

12/3 "Spectacle: Elvis Costello with Sir Elton John" - Elvis welcomes the British pop-rock superstar John.

12/10

Oh, I get it. Spectacle. 'Cause he wears glasses.
If it's somewhere in between the entertainment levels of the Henry Rollins Show and the Chevy Chase Show, we are in for a treat

The show is taped at the Apollo in Harlem. Every damn episode is great. I've seen them all and loved every minute.
