Here's some cagey Q&A from this week's Entertainment Weekly:
BRITT DANIEL: Um, I write the songs, so that's me doing that, and then I bring them into the band and we decide how to play them. That was almost as awkward as his trip to Kim's with Pitchfork! Stream some Fiction here. A list of more Spoon MP3s links can be found at Sixeyes.EW: And what's up with the Little Red Riding hood cover?
BRITT DANIEL: Well, you know, I don't like to be too literal.
EW: Gotcha.

what's with EW's music reviewing lately? since when have they been giving good reviews to Damien Jurado, Of Montreal, Low, and other "indie" acts. lately it seems like they review more Pitchfork-style releases than mainstream.

it isn't a result of Entertainment Weekly conciously moving to hipper ground, it's that the bands that you would call pitchforky have been swept into the mainstream by outside forces, such as the raging cultural river that is the OC.

Off-topic: the new Oasis album is really good.

EW got a new music editor who used to work at Time Out New York, that probably explains the shift.
