Stereogum & MyOpenBar Party Tomorrow Night

thubmnail icon: Stereogum & MyOpenBar Party Tomorrow Night

Oh cool, now you know what you're doing tomorrow night. (If you're around NYC, anyway -- Everywhere Else, we'll get to you soon, promise.) We're proud to announce details on a concert collaboration with the free-booze slinging party people at MyOpenBar.com. We've called it Surround Sound because we believe in the power of alliteration. Upon entering you'll get lots of free Newcastle Brown Ales and a lineup we believe in, including BTW Quinn Walker, former Folk Imploder/fourth Yeah Yeah Yeah Imaad Wasif, and the NYC debut of buzzy SF duo Girls. The show is at Market Hotel in Bushwick (Note: new location!) and goes from 9PM until 2AM. Click the post title and the flier will get bigger, click this and Google will give you directions.

Price is $7 if you RSVP here.Or, don't RSVP and be forced to pay $10 at the door. However you like it. Either way, we hope to see ya there.

It was never free. RSVP to http://myopenbar.com/july17 for $7 instead of $10.
Hurry before that one closes, too.

Imaad should be on around midnight or so. Girls, however, are great, fun and very listenable band and they are on first, at 10pm.

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...

Premature Evaluation: of Montreal - Skeletal Lamping

Skeletal Lamping is anything but skeletal. When we took a close listen to album closer "Id Engager" we mentioned it wasn't the strangest, most ambitious, or best tune on of Montreal's new one, but after absorbing the other 14 tracks,...
