Stooges To Cover Madonna At Hall Of Fame Induction

Adding to our Madonna reportage, according to Rock Daily, Iggy and his Stooges are going to cover the Material Mom at this year's Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony. (Looking at that pic to the right, he may also want to consider covering himself for the occasion.) What song do you think they'll tackle? Regardless, hopefully Iggy humps an amp in her honor. Though the idea of "Iggy doing Madonna" isn't quite as sexy as it would've been 20 years ago. In more R&R HOF news, Damien Rice will do Leonard Cohen. Which is great, because "Hallelujah" has never been covered before. The magic happens this Monday (3/10) at the Waldorf in NYC.

I feel guilty saying LOL because it really is way too obvious.

It's gotta be "Borderline", right?

Funny, I don't remember a Leonard Cohen song called "Hallejulah."

It would be great if it was "Like a Virgin" complete with Iggy pulling down his pants and mooning the crowd!

Iggy Pop has, like, -10% bodyfat. I think he actually causes those around them to lose bodyfat as well as it all spirals into some weird metabolic black hole invisible to the naked eye.

Quit Your Day Job: Ungdomskulen

The Bergen trio Ungdomskulen play proggy post punk, mixing chops and hooks with a sense of humor. But they don't sound like Primus. When I was in Norway a couple years ago, "Ungdomskulen" seemed to be on everybody's lips (or...

Premature Evaluation: Beck - Modern Guilt

It's been some time since we learned Modern Guilt, Beck Hansen's eighth album, would be some sort of psych rock minimalist '60s trip with Danger Mouse. Since then, we've gotten a look at the old-school jazz/Blue Note-style cover art and...
