Stream Kanye's Sky High Remix Album

thubmnail icon: Stream Kanye's Sky High Remix Album

West's been busy claiming self-defense, but in the meantime, a number of producers -- A-Trak, Diplo, and Stretch Armstrong, among others -- have been contributing their Graduation knob turnings to Plain Pat & DJ Benz's Sky High imeem remix project. As Benz puts it:

This Kanye West remix project came together about a year and half ago when me and Plain Pat met and we can discussing possible ideas for the next Kanye West mixtape following Cant Tell Me Nothing. He had heard my previous projects with Lil Wayne & The Clipse and knew I could line up the best producers to rework Kanye's classics from Graduation. Over the next year or so I worked slowly to get the right producers in line and then the remixes started coming in.

The music's in the building.

It feels weird not to hear Kanye hiding behind Auto-Tune. You can get more info regarding the production credits, etc., over at imeem.

Some of these tracks are pretty sweet and will at least make some of the more painful new tracks hurt less...

Which painful new tracks? I think everything I've heard off of 808's and Heartbreak has been his best work yet. Street Lights is excellent.

Most of the tracks from 808s have leaked except a few. Most of it is preety legit, amazing feat young jeezy is good, same with nightmares with lil wayne, welcome to heartbreak with Kid Cudi... all three are great tracks. Few songs catch you off guard, in "robocop" the violin based beat sounds like vampire fucking weekend. and the chorus sounds like what it would sound like if hello kitty raped a mixboard.

Apples In Stereo Energize Pepsi Rebranding

As we've mentioned in the past (2007), Robert Schneider's not afraid of the graceful sellout. So, no, we're not surprised that he and his E6 cohorts just scored a Pepsi commercial. (Heck, we already knew how much E6-related bands loved...
